Update: Patrick Beverley, who Tweeted that he missed shoot around because he wasn't feeling well and needed to rest, just said he will play Sunday night.
The news of his missing the shoot-around was a bit disconcerting as there were, of course, questions about his knee. But while illness could hinder his stamina come game-night, it's good to know that he's now going to be missing something due to some sort of an injury. He should be on the court Sunday.ANALYST: Howard Bender
Phillies recalled Cody Asche from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
The Phillies seem ready to commit to Asche as their new starting left fielder which certainly gums up the outfield configuration for veterans like Ben Revere, Grady Sizemore and Jeff Francoeur. It also displaces Darin Ruf. While they may be happy with the defensive work he did down in the minors, Asche's bat never really heated up, so the team is still going to have some serious offensive woes. This plan may have looked good on paper, but it should be re-visited in a couple of weeks to see how things are panning out. Analysis: Howard Bender
