Grant Balfour had his first blown save and took the loss Friday after giving up five runs on two hits and three walks over just two-thirds of an inning against the White Sox.
Friday night's performance was clearly his worst of the season and has now allowed two or more earned runs in two of his last four appearances. While the Rays have no intention to remove him from the role after just one blown save, if he keeps trending in this direction you may start to hear some rumblings. Following Friday's disastrous appearance, Balfour is now sporting a 6.10 ERA and 1.45 WHIP through his first 10.1 innings pitched. ANALYST: Matthew Beck
