Mike Dunleavy set a franchise playoff record with eight triples on his way to a playoff career-high 35 points to go with five rebounds and three assists in the win over the Wizards Friday.

Dunleavy was a force in this one and somewhat unexpected given his limited playoff experience and the fact that he combined for just 20 points over the first two games of the series. This was an outstanding effort and a nice stat line for a low-scoring Bulls team.ANALYST: Howard Bender

Angels placed Collin Cowgill on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained wrist.

Cowgill is dealing with a sprained wrist and will need at least a couple of weeks to heal. The Angels called up Alfredo Marte from Triple-A and he figures to see starts against left-handed pitching. Analysis: David Kerr

Red Sox optioned P Heath Hembree to Triple-A Pawtucket.

Hembree has given up six earned runs in 2 1/3 innings pitched and the Red Sox decided that they had seen enough. He'll had back to Triple-A Pawtucket and provide bullpen depth for the team. Analysis: David Kerr

Indians recalled P Austin Adams from Triple-A Columbus.

Adams will take the roster spot of Scott Atchison, who was placed on the disabled list on Thursday. The 28-year-old reliever owns a 5.40 ERA at Triple-A Columbus, but has shown the ability to rack up strikeouts as evident by his 14.0 K/9 this year. The Indians are likely to use him in the middle innings. Analysis: David Kerr

Indians recalled Jerry Sands from Triple-A Columbus.

Sands will be filling the roster spot of Carlos Santana, who was place on the paternity list on Thursday. There's a very good chance Sands could see a couple of starts the next few days. Analysis: David Kerr

Indians placed Scott Atchison on the 15-day disabled list.

Atchison is dealing with an ankle sprain and also owns a 5.74 ERA over 15 2/3 innings pitched, so this will likely benefit the team as a whole. It's unknown whether he will be ready to return once his 15 days are up. Analysis: David Kerr

Indians placed Carlos Santana on the paternity list.

Santana is going to miss a few days while on the paternity list, so be sure to remove him from your fantasy lineup. He can miss up to three days, though it is unknown whether he will use the allotted amount of time. Jerry Sands was called up to take Santana's place on the Indians roster. Analysis: David Kerr

Dylan Bundy was placed on the disabled list at Double-A Bowie with right shoulder soreness.

Bundy just can't catch a break. The good news here is that there is no structural damage in Bundy's shoulder and he has been prescribed anti-inflammatories and rest. Assuming both of those recommendations work, Bundy could start throwing again sometime in June. Prior to his shoulder injury, Bundy was doing well for Double-A Bowie this season with a 3.68 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and a 10.2 K/9. Analysis: David Kerr

Rusney Castillo (shoulder) has returned to the Red Sox starting lineup on Thursday.

Castillo missed Wednesday's game due to a shoulder injury, but it was never thought to be serious. He's back in right field and will bat ninth for the Red Sox on Thursday night. Analysis: David Kerr

Rob Brantly (thumb fracture) was sent to Double-A Birmingham on an injury rehab assignment.

The light-hitting Brantly will need a week or so of rehab games before he's able to join the White Sox, but it's doubtful that is where he actually ends up. Brantly is more likely to head to Triple-A and serve as depth for the big league team. Analysis: David Kerr

Leonys Martin is not in the Rangers starting lineup on Thursday.

Martin is struggling across the board this season to the tune of a .215 average, so he will take a seat against the Red Sox on Thursday night. It's worth noting that Martin is actually hitting lefties (.245) better than righties (.198), but the team feels as though batting Delino DeShields Jr. in the leadoff spot against a lefty will benefit them overall. Martin will be back in the lineup over the weekend. Analysis: David Kerr

A CT scan of Nationals left fielder Jayson Werth's left wrist at on Thursday revealed two small fractures.

Well, this is definitely going to keep Werth on the shelf until after the All-Star break at the earliest. It's a tough blow for Werth and the Nationals, but the important thing as that he gets fully healthy before the postseason. Werth has been dealing with injuries since before spring training started and this is just the icing on the cake. We should have more news on his situation soon, but for now, expect Michael A. Taylor to take over as the Nationals' everyday left fielder. Analysis: David Kerr
