Fantasy Player Updates & News

David Ortiz hit his fourth home run in losing effort to the Yankees on Tuesday.

Ortiz's home run traveled 482 feet, which is the longest home run by a Red Sox over the past nine seasons. ANALYST: Michael Pichan

Rougned Odor is not in the Rangers' starting lineup on Wednesday.

Odor has been struggling mightily at the dish, going a mere 3-for-26 over the past seven games. He will give way to Adam Rosales on Wednesday night. Analysis: Nate Miller

Hunter Pence (forearm) could begin a rehab assignment after taking batting practice Thursday.

This is certainly a positive development for the suddenly surging World Champs, as Pence could likely be back in the mix within the next 1-to-2 weeks.  Analysis: Nate Miller

Jeff Samardzija officially drops his appeal. He will begin serving his five-game suspension Wednesday night.

Samardzija will be eligible to return to the Whites Sox' rotation May 11th. He is expected to be on the mound that Monday night in Milwaukee.  Analysis: Nate Miller

Daniel Coulombe was optioned back to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday.

Coulombe made just one appearance out of the bullpen during his most recent stint with the Dodgers. The lefty reliever is being sent down to make room for Thursday's scheduled starting pitcher Joe Wieland.  Analysis: Nate Miller

Jon Jay is not in the Cardinals starting lineup on Wednesday.

With the Cardinals' taking on Cubs' southpaw Jon Lester, Jay will give way to Peter Bourjos in center field Wednesday night.  Analysis: Nate Miller

Kolten Wong is not in the Cardinals' starting lineup on Wednesday.

Wong has been on fire at the plate, going 8-for-12 over the last games. However, he will give way to Pete Kozma at second base Wednesday night, as the Cardinals' take on Cubs' lefty Jon Lester. Analysis: Nate Miller

Matt Adams is not in the Cardinals starting lineup on Wednesday.

Adams will take a seat in favor of Mark Reynolds on Wednesday night, as the Cardinals do battle with Cubs' lefty Jon Lester. Expect this first-base platoon to be the norm going forward. Analysis: Nate Miller

Steven Souza is not in the Rays starting lineup on Wednesday.

After going 4-for-7 over the last two games, Souza will get his first day off this month. Brandon Guyer will start in right field against Red Sox' righty Justin Masterson. Analysis: Nate Miller

Michael Saunders is not in the Blue Jays' starting lineup on Wednesday.

Saunders was expected to miss a few days after having his knee drained and getting a cortisone shot. It looks like this could be a recurring maintenance thing for Saunders all year given the extent of his spring knee surgery. Chris Colabello will handle the work in left field Wednesday. Analysis: Howard Bender

Michael Bourn is not in the Indians starting lineup on Wednesday.

Due to Bourn's slow start to the season, manager Terry Francona has begun to sit him against lefties. With Danny Duffy on the hill for the Royals, Michael Brantley will shift over to center and Ryan Raburn will play left. Analysis: Howard Bender
