Zack Greinke pitched six innings Friday night giving up one run on three hits, walking two with eight strikeouts and recorded a no-decision.
Greinke cruised through yet another start on Friday night, but this time his offense was unable to help him to pick up his fourth win of the season. He has now struck out eight batters in three straight games and is now holding down a 11.69 K/9 through his first 22.1 innings pitched. He will be in search of win No. 4 against the Phillies on Wednesday.ANALYST: Matthew Beck
Phillies recalled Cody Asche from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
The Phillies seem ready to commit to Asche as their new starting left fielder which certainly gums up the outfield configuration for veterans like Ben Revere, Grady Sizemore and Jeff Francoeur. It also displaces Darin Ruf. While they may be happy with the defensive work he did down in the minors, Asche's bat never really heated up, so the team is still going to have some serious offensive woes. This plan may have looked good on paper, but it should be re-visited in a couple of weeks to see how things are panning out. Analysis: Howard Bender
