Jeff Samardziga remains win less after allowing three runs (one earned) on six hits, two walks, with seven punch outs over seven innings of Friday's 4-1 loss to the Reds.
Samardzija (0-2) kept his ERA at 1.29 despite taking the loss to the Reds Friday night. Samardzifa may be a buy low candidate despite his lack of victories as he has a respectable earned run average with 22 punch outs over 28 innings pitched. ANALYST: Michael Pichan
Marc Krauss went 1-for-4 with a solo home run on Thursday in Toronto.
Krauss is hitting only .150 with a .350 slugging percentage after launching his first home run of the season. It was just his seventh game of the season, but there’s no doubt he’ll need to cut down on the strikeouts if he’s ever going to be able to showcase the decent pop he has. The left-handed hitter was called up from AAA to try and infuse some offense in Anaheim and was slugging .639 over his past 10 games. With Matt Joyce really struggling, expect Krauss to steal some of his at-bats over the next few weeks. Analysis: Kevin Luchansky
