FANTASY PLAYER UPDATES & NEWS

Aroldis Chapman (head) has been cleared to throw live batting practice.

More great news and the steady progression towards full recovery. Exactly what we've hoped for here as we wait for one of the top arms in the league to get back on the hill. He remains on-track for a mid-May return.ANALYST: Howard Bender

Diamondbacks recall INF Danny Dorn from Triple-A Reno.

Dorn will take over Jake Lamb's (foot) roster spot and provide a bat off the bench for the Diamondbacks while Yasmany Tomas takes over at third base. Analysis: Nate Miller

Diamondbacks place 3B Jake Lamb on the 15-day disabled list with a left foot stress reaction.

This is certainly a tough blow for the Diamondbacks, as their young third baseman has gotten off to a sensational start. However, this does open the door for Yasmany Tomas to take over at the hot corner. Analysis: Nate Miller

Victor Martinez will not hit right-handed against any right-handed pitching during Tuesday's game, something he's done at times in the past. The Tigers want him to test the knee exclusively from the left side of the plate.

Martinez got some extra rest for his ailing knee during last week's inter-league series in Pittsburgh, but has started each of the last three games and does not appear to be in danger of spending time on the DL. Utilize the A.L. MVP runner up as normal in fantasy leagues. Analysis: Nate Miller

Manager Kevin Cash said Kevin Kiermaier (illness) feels "great" and expect him to be with the team Tuesday.

After a solid start to the season, Kiermaier has had just one at-bat since this past Friday. He is not in Tuesday's starting lineup versus Red Sox' lefty Wade Miley, but expect Kiermaier to be back in center field for the Rays soon.  Analysis: Nate Miller

Anthony Rendon (knee) played three innings at third base in extended Spring Training on Tuesday.

Rendon appears to be making steady progress, as he is gearing things up down in the minors. The breakout star from 2014 is slated for five innings of actions Wednesday and could be back in the lineup for the Nationals by the end of the month. Analysis: Nate Miller

An MRI revealed Jeff Beliveau has a left shoulder impingement.

Beliveau got knocked around in his last two outings for the Rays' and was placed on the DL this past Friday. He is not eligible to return to action until May 2nd and holds very little fantasy value. Analysis: Nate Miller

Alex Cobb said he's schedule to throw his first bullpen session Friday.

Cobb continues to progress in his recovery and almost ready to take the next step in that process. The Rays' ace is aiming for an early-May return to the rotation. Analysis: Nate Miller

Yasmany Tomas is batting sixth for the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.

Tomas will finally make his debut as the starting third baseman for the Diamondbacks. The Cuban slugger has gone 1-for-4 off the bench over the past week. Analysis: Nate Miller

Blue Jays ran Daniel Norris through a bunch of tests after his "dead arm" complaint, but all checked out fine.

For now, it seems that Norris has no serious issues with his left arm. Monitor the situation, but the rookie southpaw is slated to make his next start Saturday versus the Rays. Analysis: Nate Miller

Chad Billingsley had a stomach issue and missed his rehab start Monday.

This sounds like just a minor setback for Billingsley. However, since the 30-year-old hurler has pitched in just two big league games since 2012, any further delay in his recovery is noteworthy. Billingsley is aiming for a mid-May debut in the Phillies' rotation. Analysis: Nate Miller

Manager John Gibbons said Michael Saunders (knee) could return Friday in Tampa.

With Saunders now fast approaching his Blue Jays' debut, Gibbons' and the front office have some decisions to make regarding the outfield. Jose Bautista is obviously going nowhere, so Kevin Pillar and Dalton Pompey are most likely to be effected by Saunders return. Analysis: Nate Miller

Manager Terry Collins says David Wright is right on schedule for his return from his hamstring injury.

The original prognosis had Wright looking at a three week stay on the disabled list, which will put the All-Star third baseman in line to return about a week into May. Wright has been exercising to keep his legs in game shape and should soon take part in baseball activities.  Analysis: Nate Miller

Carlos Beltran is not in the Yankees starting lineup on Tuesday.

Beltran has gotten off to a rough start for the Yankees this season, as age seems to be rapidly catching up with him. Chris Young will start in right field and bat sixth against Tigers' lefty Kyle Lobstein. Analysis: Nate Miller
