Jason Motte (elbow) will throw in an extended spring game Thursday after throwing 20 pitches in an extended spring appearance Monday.
Motte continues to make steady and strong progress in his return from Tommy John surgery. He may need another outing or two in extended spring training, but should find himself on a minor-league rehab assignment sooner than later. He should be back in the St. Louis pen by the end of the month.ANALYST: Howard Bender
Zach Miller caught two passes on seven targets for 10 yards and a TD on Thursday night vs Green Bay.
Miller got the start in place of the injured Martellus Bennett on Thursday night. In all, he finished with two catches and a touchdown on seven targets, looking mediocre, however doing his best with the hand he was dealt. Anyone who started him in daily leagues could have expected better, however it is a bit spoiled to come away with much more than a TD as a definite backup. Consider him a wise play on Thursday night, and a keen start going forward at least until Bennett comes back healthy. Analysis: Dom Murtha
