Aroldis Chapman threw some pitches on flat ground Monday and is now headed to the bullpen for a session.
Chapman's progress has been outstanding thus far and from strictly a baseball fan standpoint, it will be great to see him throw off a mound for the first time since being hit in the head with a line drive on March 19. He'll probably need a few bullpen session and then from there a few outings facing live hitters, but he is probably just a few weeks away from returning to the Reds. ANALYST: Howard Bender
Dallas Cowboys are hold off on placing Tony Romo on Injured Reserve in hopes of still making the playoffs.
Oh Jerry. Look, the most reductive outlook you could possibly have on Dallas' playoff chances is that the Cowboys are only two games out of the division lead. But that's ignoring the fact that they're also tied for the worst record in NFC and just one win better that the two worst teams in the league. If the Cowboys were smart, they'd be taking the perspective that they have a very, very good shot of getting a great draft pick. But it sounds like they're taking an approach that's going to cost them draft slots on the belief that Matt Cassel is leading them to the playoff. Freakin' Jerry. Analysis: Brett Talley
Chandler Parsons is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game.
Parsons has been sitting out in back-to-backs this season and will apparently continue to do so for now. The last time Parsons sat, Dirk, Felton, Williams and Matthews all played over 35 minutes, and no other bench guys saw even 20 minutes in Parsons' absence. So if you're looking for an uptick in usage for any Mavs, you should probably count on the other starters getting the extra work. Analysis: Brett Talley
