Detroit has decided not to renew Joe Dumars' contract as president of basketball operations, a person familiar with the situation said Sunday.
The thing we all will remember most about Dumars as an executive will be taking Darko Milicic over Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony and Chris Bosh in the 2003 draft. That's unfair but it's the truth even after bringing Detroit championships as a player and as a member of the front office. It's time for the team to move forward in another direction.ANALYST: Drew Phelps
Sean Lee passed the concussion protocol.
It looks like Lee will be on the field Sunday when the Cowboys face the Patriots. It should be interesting to see how Lee and the rest of the Dallas linebackers handle Rob Gronkowski this week. To date, the Dallas defense ranks seventh against the tight end position. Analysis: Howard Bender
Chris Culliver is not practicing Friday.
Culliver continues to miss practice with a knee injury fueling further speculation that he won't be able to play in Week 5. If he's unable to go, then Will Blackmon will likely serve as the starting corner on the right side. With DeAngelo Hall also out, the Falcons receivers could have a big day this week. LeSean McCoy is not practicing Friday.
McCoy was never expected at practice Friday to begin with as the Bills said he'd likely miss a couple of weeks with his hamstring injury. With Karlos Williams also likely to be out this week, Anthony Dixon will lead the charge out of the backfield in Week 5. Analysis: Howard Bender
