Fantasy Player Updates & News

Isaiah Thomas is available to play Sunday night.

Thomas has missed the last 10 games with the quad injury, so keep in mind that while he may be active, it doesn't necessarily mean he'll play. And if he does play, he'll likely have his minutes limited for his first game back.ANALYST: Howard Bender

Pirated designated P Radhames Liz for assignment.

Liz has had a rough start of it this season giving up 30 base runners (10 walks, 20 hits) in 17 1/3 innings. The 31-year-old right hander might draw interest from a few teams on the waiver wire. Analysis: Matt Selz

Athletics signed Joe Paterson to a minor league deal and assigned him to Triple-A Nashville.

The lefty reliever was released by the Royals on Friday after sporting a 5.68 ERA in 12 2/3 innings this season at Triple-A Omaha. The 29 year-old has had a few cups of coffee in the major leagues over the past few seasons. Analysis: Matt Selz

Kyrie Irving (knee) remains questionable for Game 4 against the Hawks.

Irving will be a game-time decision for Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals. He worked out for about 40 minutes before Game 3 but was not given an all-clear from medical personnel. A 3-0 series lead means the Cavaliers will likely rest Irving for the rest of the series and have Dellavedova start at point. Analysis: Matt Selz

Steven Souza (wrist) is not in the Rays starting lineup on Monday.

Souza, Jr. left Sunday's game with wrist injury that appears to be from colliding with Steven Vogt. He was diagnosed with a sprained left wrist. Not sure about length of time he will be missing as of yet but updates will be available as soon as its known. Analysis: Matt Selz

Tanner Roark is expected to be on a limit of around 70 pitches Monday.

Monday's start will be the first of the season for the 15-game winner from last year. Roark is taking the spot of Doug Fister in the rotation as Fister recovers from an ailing forearm. The pitch limit will is only because he has not been lengthened into a starter yet this year. Normally an efficient pitcher, the Cubs will test him as they average 4.0 pitches per plate appearance this year. Analysis: Matt Selz

Lorenzo Cain has left Monday's game in the fourth inning. No word of any injury as of now.

Jarrod Dyson has come in to play Centerfield for the Royals. There is no indication of the type of injury as of right now. The Royals were trailing 11-0 to the Yankees at the time of Cain's departure. Analysis: Matt Selz

Ike Davis (quad) still has not started any baseball related activities.

Davis has a Grade 3 strain of his left quad and will most likely need longer than the 15 days on the shelf. Mark Canha and Max Muncy will continue to fill in for the injured first baseman who was batting .282/.348/.427 with 2 HR and 11 RBI in 33 games. There is no timetable for his return. Analysis: Matt Selz

A.J. Griffin says he's getting close to throwing in simulated games.

Griffin recently threw a bullpen session after being shut down for two weeks as he recovers from shoulder soreness. The simulated game would be the next step in his rehab before he goes on a rehab assignment to step up to MLB readiness. He should be ready to rejoin the A's rotation some point in June. Analysis: Matt Selz

David Wright is headed to California to have his back examined by Dr. Michael Watkins. The Mets will know more in next two-to-three days.

The Mets' veteran third baseman was diagnosed with Spinal Stenosis, narrowing of the spinal column, last week. This visit is to figure out a treatment plan that will allow him to come back to the Mets active roster. It will be a while until Wright gets back to playing third for the Metropolitans. Analysis: Matt Selz

Sean Doolittle is expected to be activated from the disabled list on Tuesday.

The Athletics were thrilled to see the performance of Doolittle in his last rehab outing on Friday. Doolittle was reevaluated on Monday and was given clearance to be activated from the disabled list on Tuesday. Bob Melvin said they would work him back into the fold slowly and not put him right back into high pressure situations. The return of Doolittle hurts the fantasy value of Tyler Clippard.  Analysis: Drew Phelps

Blue Jays option Munenori Kawasaki to Triple-A Buffalo.

Kawasaki was in the majors for less than a week before getting sent back down with the return of Jose Reyes. He has only managed 5 at-bats in the majors this season batting .200.  Analysis: Drew Phelps
