UPDATES & NEWS
Update: A.J. Burnett is dealing with soreness in his right groin and remains uncertain for Wednesday's scheduled start against Atlanta.
Burnett came out after just 4.1 innings on Friday with the groin injury and could have his next start skipped to give him enough time to recover. He'll have to throw a side session for the club to see if he's able to avoid a DL stint, so stay tuned for more updates from the Phillies.ANALYST: Howard Bender
Matt Andriese gave up four runs over 3 1/3 innings as the Rays lost to the Yankees 5-3 on Sunday.
The Yanks hit Andriese up pretty good on Sunday, but it wasn’t like they absolutely shelled him. Four runs on eight hits over 3 1/3 innings isn’t pretty, but it also isn’t catastrophic. In any case, manager Kevin Cash decided to pull the 25-year-old right-hander after only 63 pitches, leaving the rest of the game up to the bullpen. He now appears to have a spot in this Ray’s rotation, so he needs to work on stretching himself out and keeping the ball on the ground, rather than getting hit hard or getting into deep counts. As of now, he’s not worth a fantasy roster spot, so look for starting pitching help somewhere else on the waiver wire. Analysis: Dom Murtha
