The Thunder announce that Kevin Durant (foot) will have season-ending surgery and will be back to basketball activities in 4-6 months.

At this point, it's no surprise to hear that Durant won't be able to return to action this season. The reigning MVP is expected to make a full recovery in time to return for the start of the 2015-16 season. Analysis: Brad Costilo

Manager Buck Showalter said J.J. Hardy banged up his left shoulder on a play up the middle on Friday. The Orioles will know more Saturday, but it's not considered a big deal yet.

Hardy, who hit 22 or more home-runs in three straight seasons prior to his disappointing nine home-run total in 2014, is currently the 14th Short-stop coming off of the board in fantasy drafts (Average Draft Position of 262nd overall). If he's able to return to being a 20 home-run producer, that would justify his being the 14th Short-stop coming off the boards, but as there's been no sign of his power at all this Spring, you're better off looking elsewhere for a Short-stop for your fantasy team. Analysis: Brad Costilo

Doug McDermott (back) is listed as questionable for Saturday's game.

McDermott, who's missed the last two games due to his back soreness, isn't someone who warrants any attention in fantasy basketball (averaging 3.1 points and 1.2 rebounds per game). Analysis: Brad Costilo

Chris Kaman (shoulder) is listed as probable for Friday's game against the Suns.

Kaman has missed the last three games since spraining his shoulder against the Magic on 3/20, but is expected to play tonight against the Suns. That being said, Kaman isn't producing enough (8.7 points and 6.6 rebounds per game) to be considered for your fantasy lineup. Analysis: Brad Costilo

Manager Chip Hale says MRI on Matt Stites elbow "looked pretty clean."

Stites has been sidelined since his arm "locked up" after throwing batting practice last Saturday. Assuming that there are no lingering issues with his arm (and this news story does indeed indicate that), Stites will likely be back in the Diamondbacks bullpen in 2015. Analysis: Brad Costilo

Angels David Freese (elbow) took batting practice Friday and is expected to play Saturday.

Freese, who hit .260 with 10 home-runs and 55 RBIs in 134 games last year, is reported to be over the hyperextended left elbow that he suffered on Wednesday. If you are looking for a late-round corner-infield option who can get you double digit home-run production, Freese will likely be sitting there for you (current Average Draft Position is 385th overall). Analysis: Brad Costilo

Eric Bledsoe is feeling better after from a stomach virus on Wednesday and will play Friday.

It appears that Bledsoe is completely over the stomach virus that caused him to sit out of practice yesterday, and he will be the starting Point Guard this evening. Bledsoe is having a very solid March, averaging 18.0 points, 6.0 assists, and 5.9 rebounds per game during the month. Analysis: Brad Costilo

Brandon Knight (ankle) is a game-time decision for Friday's game against Portland.

Knight, who's missed the last seven games due to his sprained ankle, was expected to play on Wednesday until he was ruled out minutes before game time. Expect the Suns coaching staff to wait until just before game-time to make the decision as to whether or not Knight, and his 17.2 points per game, can return to action. Analysis: Brad Costilo

Justin Verlander left Friday's game due to cramps in his right triceps muscle.

Verlander was pulled in the third inning of today's Grapefruit League game, but reports don't indicate that this is expected to be a serious, or lingering, issue. This Spring, Verlander has been emphasizing his curveball, about which manager Brad Ausmus said "His curve was outstanding. It was tighter, harder... He used it a lot." Analysis: Brad Costilo

Royals release Cuban LHP Noel Arguelles, whom they re-signed as minor league free agent last November.

Arguelles really struggled in double-A ball in 2014, posting a 7.15 ERA, 1.85 WHIP and 44 strikeouts in 61 2/3 innings pitched. The 25-year-old pitcher is likely to end up playing for another minor-league organization in 2015. Analysis: Brad Costilo

Kole Calhoun (tricep bruise) will likely return to action on Saturday.

Calhoun is sitting out Friday's action after being hit by a pitch the day before. The 27-year-old Outfielder who hit .272 with 17 home-runs and 90 Runs scored in 2014 has a good shot of putting up a 20+ home-run season this year, which would make his current Average Draft Position of 92nd overall a solid value. Analysis: Brad Costilo
