Kevin McHale said Dwight Howard (ankle) will not play Friday night.
With the playoffs looming this is hardly a surprise as Howard has been bothered by this same ankle injury for some time. There is still a chance he returns, possibly for Saturday's tilt with the Pelicans, but in the meantime, Omer Asik will continue to start in his place.ANALYST: Howard Bender
Yankees grant RHP Scott Baker his unconditional release.
Baker was enjoying a serviceable career when he was with the Twins, but Tommy John surgery in 2012 derailed his career.
