Fantasy Player Updates & News  Huge Overlay: $500k MLB Championship

Jonas Valanciunas has been reportedly charged with driving under the influence in Wasaga Beach.

Not to minimize Valanciunas behavior, but he and the Raptors last played on Friday and are not scheduled to play again until Wednesday, so this is likely just a 21-year old enjoying some free time unresponsively as opposed to an underlying problem. ANALYST: Michael Pichan

Buccaneers have released CB Jude Adjei-Barimah, DE Ryan Delaire, DT Caushaud Lyons, WR Donteea Dye and KR Kaelin Clay.

Just some house cleaning for the Bucs here as they look to trim the roster down in preparation of the start of the season. No one here is of any sort of impact, so fantasy owners can relax. Analysis: Howard Bender

Packers have released RB Rajion Neal.

He was behind Alonzo Harris and James Starks on the depth chart in Green Bay, and obviously the Packers felt that a roster spot was better used elsewhere. Neal will try to land a gig with another team now, but may find it difficult to land anything at this point. Analysis: Howard Bender

Jets have cut Josh Johnson.

With this move and a recent tweet from Matt Flynn saying that he won't play for the Jets this year, it looks like Bryce Petty has won the No. 3 quarterback job in New York. Johnson will look to catch on elsewhere now, but may have trouble finding anything more than a spot on a practice squad. Analysis: Howard Bender

Andy Phillips has been released by the Packers.

Phillips was a long shot for a reserve role with the Packers anyway, so his departure shouldn't come as much of a surprise. He will likely end up on a practice squad somewhere. Analysis: Howard Bender

Matt Flynn tweeted that he will not be playing for the Jets.

Ryan Fitzpatrick is working as the team's No. 1 quarterback while Geno Smith remains sidelined with a broken jaw. But Smith isn;t expected to miss as much time as originally believed and the team thinks that either Bryce Petty or Josh Johnson can be a capable No. 3. Flynn will likely try and take his service elsewhere. Analysis: Howard Bender

Mark Buehrle will have his next start pushed back to Monday.

The Jays want to give Buehrle an extra day to rest, so they simply push him back here and swap him with Marco Estrada. He is now a two-start pitcher for next week. Analysis: Howard Bender

Marco Estrada will now start on Sunday.

In an effort to get veteran Mark Buehrle a little extra rest, his start will be pushed back to Monday with Marco Estrada working Sunday. It's an unexpected second start for the week for Estrada so fantasy owners get a little bonus here. Analysis: Howard Bender

Kyle Schwarber is not in Saturday's starting lineup.

The Cubs are moving things around as they face lefty Robbie Ray. Schwarber will take a seat while Javier Baez takes over at third and Kris Bryant moves out to left field. Starlin Castro is getting the nod at second while Addison Russel stays put at short. Schwarber will be in Sunday's lineup against a right-hander. Analysis: Howard Bender

Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker is ready for the season opener.

After all the questions and all the concern, it looks like those who never wavered on Parker are going to reap the benefits early on. The foot has healed and he has been a full-go at practice recently. He will suit up and be a part of the Dolphins passing attack in Week 1. Analysis: Howard Bender

The Jets will cut veteran pass rusher Jason Babin.

He's been a situational pass-rusher for the Jets who are now deciding to go in a different direction. The 35-year old could land with another team, especially those in need of some outside linebacker help. He's not productive for fantasy really, but in real-life, he should still be able to contribute. Analysis: Howard Bender

Steelers release Josh Harris, Jawon Chisholm, Matt Conrath, Ethan Hemer, Mike Thornton, Jordan Dangerfield, Alden Darby, Gerod Holliman.

Just some roster clean-up for the Steelers as they whittle down to the 53-man roster limit. None of these guys are going to be on anyone's fantasy radar moving forward. Analysis: Howard Bender
