David Robertson has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a Grade 1 groin stain.
Well now this is a huge bummer and is going to cause more fantasy headaches as owners continue to scramble and throw away their FAAB dollars at this closer carousel. Robertson will probably need at least one full week of doing nothing before he can ramp up his rehab activities, so it might be a bit longer than his 15 days. Shawn Kelly, who got the save Monday, will be the fill-in, though should the match-up favor using a lefty, Matt Thornton could see some work.ANALYST: Howard Bender
Roberto Osuna (back) is available out of the bullpen Monday.
Osuna was complaining about some lower back pain after coming on in relief Sunday, but says he will be available if needed. Osuna has been outstanding this year and could be the solution to the Blue Jays' closer issue. He owns a 2.02 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 42 strikeouts in 35 2/3 innings and is in the top 30 of the majors in strikeout rate with a 43:10 K/BB ratio. Analysis: Zack Carpenter
Dodgers transfer LHP Paco Rodriguez to the 60-day disabled list.
This move allows the Dodgers to bring up Eric Surkamp for tonight's bullpen game. Rodriguez, who last pitched for the Dodgers on May 29, will be out at least 8-10 weeks until September after undergoing arthroscopic surgery to remove bone spurs in his left elbow. He pitched four scoreless innings in a recent rehab assignment but suffered a setback and will now be sidelined even longer than expected. He has a 2.61 ERA in 10 1/3 innings. Analysis: Zack Carpenter
