Jason Heyward (neck) is in the Braves starting lineup on Sunday.

After a successful batting practice, Heyward was deemed healthy enough to be inserted into the starting lineup on Sunday. Fantasy owners will want to check up on him following today's game, as of now, his neck injury seems to be a thing of the past. ANALYST: Matthew Beck

Ervin Santana threw a 60-pitch live batting practice session on Wednesday.

Santana is out until July 6th due to a PED suspension, but he'll continue to throw to live hitters to stay in game shape in preparation for his return. He's not worth stashing in fantasy leagues. Analysis: Ben Diamond

Mariners recalled Dominic Leone from Triple-A Tacoma.

Leone has a lot of upside and could be the Mariners future closer, but for now he'll probably be used in lower leverage situations to build up Seattle's trust. Analysis: Ben Diamond

Jake Peavy experienced back tightness after his start Wednesday.

This is bad news for Peavy, and depending on the severity of the tightness, he could be shut down for a while. The Giants should give an update soon. Analysis: Ben Diamond

Victor Martinez (knee) will return to Detroit to be with team next week, but no indication he'll be ready then.

Martinez has really struggled to play through the knee injury that he suffered in the offseason, and it is unknown if he will actually be activated from the DL once he meets with the team in Detroit. He could still miss a couple weeks, or more, with the issue. Analysis: Ben Diamond

Blue Jays prospect Miguel Castro left Friday's game with a right hand issue.

Castro officially left the game with forearm tightness, which does not sound good at all. As we've seen too many times over the past couple of seasons, forearm tightness generally leads to Tommy John surgery. Castro showed a lot of promise with the Blue Jays early this season, stepping in as closer for a couple weeks, but the 20-year old struggled with command, leading to his demotion. Analysis: Ben Diamond

Stephen Strasburg left Friday's game with the trainer in the second inning.

Strasburg only faced five batters, before exiting the game with some sort of issue in his shoulder area. Strasburg had struggled mightily this season prior to his injury, so the issue could be related to his recent ineffectiveness. The Nationals should update us on his condition soon. Analysis: Ben Diamond

Update: Avisail Garcia (knee) could be used as a pinch hitter on Friday.

Garcia has sat seven times in his last nine games due to a knee injury, but he is making progress and could start in a game this weekend if all goes well. Analysis: Ben Diamond

Drew Pomeranz (shoulder) will make a rehab appearance of two innings on Sunday.

Pomeranz was placed on the DL with shoulder tightness, but he has responded very well to treatment and is probably two weeks away from returning to the big leagues. Analysis: Ben Diamond

Coco Crisp (neck) will have a bone scan on Monday.

Crisp has been out since May 19th with a neck injury, and it looks like he still has a ways to go in his recovery. He still has to get an epidural at some point next week, and then the A's will see how he responds to that before coming up with a firm timetable for his return. Analysis: Ben Diamond

Manager Chip Hale says that Jarrod Saltalamacchia will get the bulk of the time behind the plate.

With Tuffy Gosewisch landing on the DL and very little depth at the catching position for Arizona, Saltalamacchia should see plenty of time behind the plate. He's probably not a viable fantasy option, though, after a very rough start to the season with Miami. Analysis: Ben Diamond

A.J. Griffin (elbow) will make a rehab start on Tuesday. He is scheduled to throw three innings and 45 pitches.

Griffin is recovering from Tommy John surgery, and had suffered some shoulder soreness earlier in his recovery delaying his timetable. He could be back by late June if all goes well during the rehab assignments. Analysis: Ben Diamond

Brewers placed Brandon Kintzler on the 15-day disabled list with left knee tendinitis.

Kintzler was initially going to be DFA'd to clear a spot on the active roster for Jean Segura, but will instead be placed on the 15-day DL with left knee tendinitis. The Brewers have not provided a timetable for his return. Analysis: Ben Diamond

Ryan Lavarnway has been outrighted to Triple-A and has chosen to elect free agency.

Lavarnway could find a team in need of catching depth, such as the Diamondbacks, but he may end up signing a minor league deal as well. He doesn't have any fantasy value. Analysis: Ben Diamond
