Masahiro Tanaka served up a home run to the 1st major league batter he faced (Melky Cabrera), but was still able to earn the victory in his MLB debut.
Tanaka had a roller coaster outing as he retired the next three batters in order after the home run (struck out Bautista and Encarnacion to end the first), allowed two runs in the second inning, but then pitched five scoreless innings to finish with a final stat line of 6 H, 3 R (2 ER), 1 HR, 0 BB, and 8 K in 7 IP as he and the Yankees got the win defeating the Jays 7-3.ANALYST: Michael Pichan
Colin Kaepernick has worked with Kurt Warner on his throwing mechanics this offseason.
Specifically, the story notes that Kaepernick is working on "engaging his lower half" to allow for better touch. It's hard to believe Kurt Warner would know more about throwing mechanics than Jim Harbaugh or any other quarterback coach Kap has ever worked with. This appears to be more fluff than anything else, though is reports from camp suggest there's been a real change to approach or delivery of throwing a football, it could be something worth remembering on draft day.
