Pau Gasol will not play on Wednesday, he has a severe recurrence of vertigo.

Chris Kaman is questionable, which means that Jordan Hill is likely to get the star at center and makes for a very favorable value play in your daily league fantasy contests.ANALYST: Michael Pichan

Mariners reinstated LHP David Rollins from the restricted list.

The lefty was suspended 80 games for testing positive for the anabolic steroid stanozolol. What exactly the Mariners will do with him now is not yet known, but fantasy owners really don't need to be concerned here. Analysis: Howard Bender

Mariners recalled RHP Mayckol Guaipe from Triple-A Tacoma.

He had a 3.94 ERA over 29 2/3 innings at Tacoma, so we're obviously not looking at some world-beater on the hill. He'll serve as depth for the bullpen and have little or no fantasy value at all. Analysis: Howard Bender

Mariners recalled OF James Jones from Triple-A Tacoma.

Jones will work as a reserve outfielder and likely a pinch-runner during his stay. He was only hitting .260 at Tacoma but he did have 17 stolen bases. Unless he somehow earns full-time duty, he's nothing more than a fringe option in really deep AL-only leagues. Analysis: Howard Bender

Spurs are aggressively pursuing free agent David West with a veteran minimum offer now.

Apparently the Spurs have locked in LaMarcus Aldridge and are now trying to lock in a few components to the supporting cast. The former Pacers forward opted out of his contract with the hopes of getting a longer-termed deal so it will be interesting to see exactly what the Spurs are offering here. Analysis: Howard Bender

Stephen Strasburg left Saturday's game with a left oblique injury.

That sound you hear is the collectively banging of Strasburg owners' heads against a brick wall. The ERA is a mess, strikeouts are down and he's giving up more home runs this season than any other in his career. And now this? Ugh. He'll go for tests now and you can expect the team to update his condition soon enough. You can call him day-to-day, but you shouldn't expect him to get another start before the All Star break. Analysis: Howard Bender

Derek Norris suffered an AC sprain in his left shoulder on Friday, but doctors say it can't any worse.

Based on his presence in Saturday's lineup, the Padres are just going to let him play through this if he can't make it any worse. He may see a few extra days off in the coming week, but with the All Star break coming up, he should get enough rest then. Analysis: Howard Bender

Bud Norris was told that hes going to pitch out of the Orioles bullpen.

With Kevin Gausman looking solid and Norris sporting a 6.79 ERA with a 1.62 WHIP over 11 starts, this is a no-brainer for manager Buck Showalter. What little fantasy value Norris had is now likely gone, though if he finds himself a niche ion the pen that works, maybe he can be a viable reliever to use. Analysis: Howard Bender

LaMarcus Aldridge will sign a four-year, $80 million maximum contract with the San Antonio Spurs.

Spurs coach Greg Popovich set up a second meeting with Aldridge late in the week and really put the full-court press on him. The team's winning ways, the money and the attention he will receive are all there for him and it looks like a fantastic fit. Expect a deal to be announced this weekend. How's that for fireworks, San Antonio? Analysis: Howard Bender

Matt Kemp is not in the Padres starting lineup on Saturday.

After going 1-for-14 over his last four games, three of which he was in the leadoff spot, it looks like Kemp will just get the day off to clear his head. The .242 average and lack of production is killing his owners, but with no injury of which to speak, he could still be a solid buy-low option here for the second half. Analysis: Howard Bender

Red Sox are undecided on whether or not Dustin Pedroia (hamstring) will be activated for the Yankees series next weekend, or comes back after All-Star break.

The trainers are going to have Pedroia do some running and see how he looks before they make their final determination. If he can run the bases without issue, he'll get a rehab game or two this week and be activated. If the team feels like it's too soon, they'll simply hold him out. Expect a few updates over the holiday weekend. Analysis: Howard Bender

Junichi Tazawa is available out the Red Sox bullpen on Saturday.

The Red Sox felt that they were over-working Tazawa, so they gave him some time off. In fact, he hasn't appeared in a game since June 28. He's back now and will return to his usual role as a set-up man for closer Koji Uehara. Analysis: Howard Bender

Cardinals have recalled RHP Mitch Harris from Triple-A Memphis.

Harris will get the return ticket to the majors as the Cardinals need a little bullpen depth for the weekend. He was up earlier and posted a 3.63 ERA over 17 1/3 innings. Unfortunately though, he issued too many free passes, as evidenced by his 5.19 BB/9. No one is going to continue working in the big leagues if their walk rate is higher than their strikeout rate so look for him to either right the ship or head back to the far real quick. Analysis: Howard Bender
