Update: Blake Griffin (back spasms) will not play Monday.

Impending free agent Jacquian Williams has been told by the Giants he will not be re-signed.

A former starter with the Giants, Williams' tenure will end when he becomes a free agent next week. The four-year veteran made 74 tackles last season, but didn't completely live up to expectations with New York. He will surely find a starting gig with another team. Analysis: David Kerr

Manager Fredi Gonzalez said third baseman Chris Johnson would play first base on the days he wants to rest first baseman Freddie Freeman.

After hitting .321 in 2013, Johnson regressed to .263 in 2014. His numbers across the board decreased, but he could slightly bounce back in 2015. Johnson has an everyday job in 2015 but he likely won't be drafted until the later rounds. Analysis: Colby Conway

Matt Reynolds (rib) will face hitters Friday.

Reynolds is expected to be one of the team's top lefties out of the bullpen, but he has been slowed down this spring by this rib injury. While his fantasy value isn't extremely high, the Diamondbacks will be hoping that he comes out of Friday's live batting practice unscathed. Analysis: Colby Conway

Free-agent DE Trent Cole is receiving interest from the Seahawks and 49ers.

Cole also has interest from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Cole had 6.5 sacks last season and he could be a solid addition for a team in need of a veteran pass-rusher. Analysis: Colby Conway

Ji-Man Choi was designated for assignment to make room on the 40-man roster.

Choi broke his fibula and will be out for the next four to six months. This is just a procedural move by the Mariners. Analysis: Colby Conway

Mariners put Edgar Olmos back on 40-man roster after Rangers returned him from waiver claim.

The Rangers claimed Olmos but had to shut him down due to a shoulder impingement. Olmos, a hard-throwing southpaw, could be a serviceable reliever, if he can stay healthy. Leave him off your fantasy team in 2015. Analysis: Colby Conway

Colts tendered a qualifying offer to restricted free-agent linebacker Jerrell Freeman on Thursday.

If another team signs Freeman, the Colts will receive a sound-round pick. Freeman has until April 24th to sign an offer sheet with another team. He led the team in tackles during the 2012 and 2013 seasons and was second last season. Freeman is a highly capable NFL linebacker who can help any team who needs a consistent tackler in their front seven. Analysis: Colby Conway

Cliff Lee made his first start of the spring Thursday and has said he doesn't have any reservations about his elbow.

Lee only needed 16 pitches to get through two innings and he fired 10 of them for strikes. Lee only allowed two hits and his velocity was clocked around his normal levels. This is definitely exciting news for fantasy owners as Lee can be a solid fantasy asset when healthy. Also, Lee is a prime trade target this season and a possible trade to a contender would only boost his fantasy value. Analysis: Colby Conway

Jeff Samardzija will not talk contract extension with the White Sox once the season starts.

Samardzija seems like he will test free agency, but Chicago does have time to lock him up long term. Keeping him and Chris Sale in their rotation is a good way to go about getting Chicago back in contention. Don't look at Samardzija's 2014 record as it is not indicative of his performance. Expect a solid ERA and plenty of strikeouts from the right-hander. Analysis: Colby Conway

Ji-Man Choi could miss up to four-to-six months after undergoing surgery Thursday afternoon to repair a broken right leg.

Choi broke his fibula when he landed awkwardly after leaping for a high throw from shortstop Tyler Smith. Choi was competing to be a backup first baseman behind starter Logan Morrison. He is expected to miss the next four to six months. Analysis: Colby Conway

49ers and Aldon Smith have restructured his deal.

Smith was a monster for the 49ers in 2011 and 2012, but off-field incidents have kept Smith off the field of late. A suspension kept him off the field for most of 2015 and the 49ers want Smith to figure everything out. In his first two seasons, Smith totaled 33.5 sacks and was a game changer on the San Francisco defense. Analysis: Colby Conway

Peter Moylan has agreed to a minor league deal with the Braves.

Moylan spent his first seven seasons with the Braves before going to the Dodgers in 2013. He has dealt with numerous injuries during his career and hasn't pitched since 2013. Moylan, at best, will serve as a middle reliever for the Braves, but he doesn't warrant a roster spot on your fantasy team. Analysis: Colby Conway

Giancarlo Stanton faced live pitching in a game Thursday for the first time since getting hit in the face on September 11th.

Even though he went 0-for-2 in his first game in just under six months, Stanton said he was pleased with his at-bats. Stanton will now wear a protective cage on his helmet to prevent another freak accident. Stanton will be one of the first five players off the draft board in fantasy leagues this year. Analysis: Colby Conway

Update: Bruce Rondon will throw another live batting practice session Friday.

The team isn't going to rush Rondon along and it's likely he won't pitch back-to-back days this spring. Manager Brad Ausmus said that as long as he is effective enough for an inning, he will be on the 25-man roster to start the season. Until he steps into the closing role, his fantasy contributions will largely reside in the holds category. Analysis: Colby Conway Mobile App
