The LAPD released a statement on Saturday saying WR DeSean Jackson is not involved in gang violence.

Orioles optioned RHP Oliver Drake to Triple-A Norfolk.

Drake will head back to the minors as the Orioles look to get a fresh arm in the bullpen. He'll be replaced by T.J. McFarland. Analysis: Howard Bender

Orioles recalled LHP T.J. McFarland from Triple-A Norfolk.

The Orioles are just swapping out relievers to get some fresh arms in the bullpen. McFarland will slot back in to his usual set-up role. Analysis: Howard Bender

Radhames Liz cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Indianapolis.

No surprise that no one picked him up as Liz had been bleeding runs lately. He allowed at least one in four of his last six appearances and pushed his ERA up to 3.63 over 17 1/3 innings. He'll bide his time in the minors for now. Analysis: Howard Bender

Athletics optioned Arnold Leon to Triple-A Nashville.

With Drew Pomeranz activated from the DL and joining the bullpen, Leon will head back to the minors. He could come back at some point soon, but the A's have a number of arms they want to take a long look at first. Analysis: Howard Bender

Athletics activated Drew Pomeranz from the 15-day disabled list.

Pomeranz will not rejoin the rotation, at least not to start. The team is giving Kendall Graveman a longer opportunity and Jesse Chavez has pitched very well so far. Pomeranz will probably handle some long-relief work to stay somewhat stretched out. Analysis: Howard Bender

Kris Medlen will throw a five-inning simulated game on Thursday.

The Royals feel that Medlen is close to a rehab assignment so he'll be tested out in the simulated game first. If all goes well, he'll head out to what should be a fairly extensive assignment. The team is still targeting a return sometime around the All Star break. Analysis: Howard Bender

Danny Duffy will throw a five-inning simulated game on Thursday.

Duffy has thrown a pair of successful bullpen sessions and if everything goes well with Thursday's simulated game, he will head out on a rehab stint. He may not need more than one start though as the Royals are considering having him slot back in as a long-reliever/sixth starter. Chris Young has been very effective and Jason Vargas has been much better as of late. It could come down to Jeremy Guthrie's next start or two. Analysis: Howard Bender

Hunter Pence was held out of Wednesday's lineup because of a bruised left wrist, but should be fine to play on Thursday.

The Giants are downplaying the injury so while there doesn't seem to be much concern right now. Continue to monitor the situation though as a sore wrist in conjunction with his previous arm injury, could keep him out for more than just a game. The team says he'll be in the lineup Thursday, but make sure you keep tabs on him. Analysis: Howard Bender

Tony Watson is not available to pitch on Wednesday.

Watson has thrown on back-to-back days and threw 21 pitches Tuesday alone. With Watson, and possibly Mark Melancon, unavailable, the Pirates will have to turn to either Jared Hughes or Arquimedes Caminero for a potential save situation. Analysis: Howard Bender

Salvador Perez is not in the Royals starting lineup Wednesday.

Perez took a foul ball off the mask during Tuesday's game and was removed for precautionary reasons, according to manager Ned Yost. He passed his concussion tests after the game, but his absence from Wednesday's lineup could indicate that something else came about during the morning. It could also be precautionary though so look for additional updates from the Royals throughout the day. Analysis: Howard Bender
