Michael Pineda will be left behind to pitch in a minor league game on Sunday, will start for the Yankees Saturday in Toronto.
His spring performances should have you dreaming on this former top prospect as he has been the best Yankee pitcher going this spring with a 1.20 ERA in 15 innings with 16 strikeouts to just one walk without allowing a single home run. I drafted Pineda in the last one or two rounds in all the mixed leagues I could as I am a believer that he will have a solid season now that he is finally healthy and at that value with his upside it seemed like a no brainer decision to do so. Aldon Smith said he is "hungry" to bounce back in 2015.
While that's all well and good, the bottom line is that Smith needs to stay focused on the field and out of trouble off it. His suspension really hurt the 49ers defense and with a new regime taking over, he needs to really prove that he's more than just a problem child. He can be one of the best in the game if he's focused, so if he's really that hungry, the 49ers will let him eat. Analysis: Howard Bender
