FANTASY PLAYER UPDATES & NEWS

Wilson Chandler said he will know "in a couple of days" if he'll shut it down for the remaining games of the season as he deals with an injured groin/hip.

He mine as well as the Nuggets are out of the playoff race. In the meantime Quincy Miller will continue to get the start, but until he starts seeing 25-plus minutes on a consistent basis you can ignore Q in must all formats. ANALYST: Michael Pichan

Chad Smith has arrived in camp on Saturday.

Smith was just claimed off waivers from the Tigers on Thursday so he had a couple of days to get his things and head to the A's spring training facility. He's a long shot to make the 25-man roster, but if he can continue to post similar strikeout and walk rates that he did in Double and Triple-A last year, he could get a call-up at some point. Analysis: Howard Bender

Spencer Dinwiddie came off the bench to score 20 points (8-14 FGA, 3-3 FTA) with four rebounds, eight assists and one steal against the Wizards on Saturday.

Spencer Dinwiddie came off the bench in route to the best performance of career. The 21-year-old rookie had been averaging 2.7 points, 0.9 rebounds and 2.5 assists across 11 minutes in 19 games played. So tonight's performance was likely more of an apparition than anything else, but he definitely proved that he has the talent to hold his own when afforded the minutes. If he is able to string together another decent game or two, he may be worth a roster spot in deeper formats.  Analysis: Keith Tro

Andre Drummond scored 13 points (5-8 FGA, 3-10 FTA) with nine rebounds and one block during the Piston's 99-95 loss to the Wizards on Saturday.

A.D. regressed back to his mean tonight after registering 21 points and 15 rebounds Saturday verse the Knicks - keeping in mind last night's performance included two overtimes. The UConn alumn was one rebound shy of his fifth straight double-double, but 13 points, nine rebounds and a block is pretty standard fro Drummond. He certainly could use some work on his production from the charity stripe.  Analysis: Keith Tro

Greg Monroe posted a double-double during Saturday's 99-95 loss to the Wizards as he scored 21 points (8-15 FGA, 5-6 FTA) and grabbed 10 rebounds while adding in one steal and one block.

Monroe recorded his fourth straight double-double tonight against the Wizards, and has tallied 20+ points in his last two games. The 24-year-old big man has put together a string of several very efficient games, although Detroit has now lost three straight contests. Monroe is averaging 15 points and 10 boards on the season.  Analysis: Keith Tro

Kevin Garnett just picked up his second technical of the game and has been ejected.

Tough game for Garnett here as he let his emotions get the better of him and was tossed almost immediate. He had just six points with three rebounds, three steals and two blocks before heading to the showers. He'll be back for the T-Wolves next game on Monday. Analysis: Howard Bender

49ers want to keep Stevie Johnson, but the team is expected to ask him to take a pay cut, NFL Insider Ian Rapoport reported Saturday.

The 49ers are already likely to let Michael Crabtree go via free agency, and with Vernon Davis rapidly declining and Anquan Boldin also aging, the 49ers will have to do all the can to retain Johnson and keep their passing game intact. Analysis: Ben Diamond

Ray Rice said Saturday that he remains "optimistic" that he will get a second chance in the NFL.

Rice is still a very talented back but the question of whether a team would want to deal with the media circus that comes with a signing of Rice. There's still a good shot that he finds a new team, but it may not be until 2016 at best. Analysis: Ben Diamond

Brian Cushing told the Houston Chronicle on Saturday that in addition to undergoing surgery to repair his wrist, he also had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee and left ankle in the offseason.

There's the old joke that if Cushing suffers one more knee injury the training staff will bring out the tarp and put him down. This saying still holds true after three more surgeries for Cushing, but hopefully he's in better shape for the Texans defense in 2015 after an injury plagued 2014. Analysis: Ben Diamond
