Browns general manager Ray Farmer said the team is still interested in signing transition free-agent C Alex Mack to a long-term deal.

Curtis Granderson was 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI on Tuesday against the Padres.

Granderson now has a hit in three straight and 11-of-12 games as he continues to remain the Mets' best offensive option this season. He has a .777 OPS on the season, even though he still only sports a .253 average. Analysis: Rob Trayah

Noah Syndergaard went eight scoreless innings, surrendering just three hits while striking out nine in Tuesday's win over San Diego.

Syndergaard overpowered the Padres on Tuesday, allowing just three baserunners and throwing 107 pitches over the eight innings. That makes it six straight starts of allowing two runs or less as his ERA fell to 2.70 on the season. The best sign was Syndergaard not walking a batter, a nice change from his five BB in his last start. Analysis: Rob Trayah

James Shields went seven innings and gave up three runs on seven hits while striking out four on Tuesday against the Mets.

Shields surrendered a home run to Lucas Duda and was really able to hold the Mets in check the rest of the time. With his name be bounced around in trade talks, it was a solid performance that won't talk away any type of value of him. Shields has an 8-4 record with a 3.77 ERA and 1.30 WHIP in 2015. Analysis: Rob Trayah

Angels GM Bill Stoneman said Mike Trout has a minor strain in left wrist and is day to day.

Trout had an MRI on Tuesday and sat out Tuesday's contest as a precaution. Trout could be back in the lineup Wednesday, but if he's not, it doesn't sound like he's going to miss an extended amount of time. Analysis: Brett Talley

Mariners LHP Charlie Furbush tested his recovery from biceps tendinitis by throwing from the mound Tuesday.

Furbush has been a reliable LOOGY in the big leagues, but that's all he is. He's never going to be a pitcher who consistently pitches in high leverage situations that being fantasy value. Analysis: Brett Talley

Jose Bautista left Tuesday's game with what appeared to be a right hamstring injury.

Bautista was an unfortunate 0-for-4 against Adam Morgan and Philadelphia bullpen before leaving with the injury. It would certainly be unfortunate for the Jays if they were to lose Bautista for any amount of time as he'd represent a bigger loss in firepower than what they just gained in Troy Tulowitzki. Hopefully it's nothing, but Ezequiel Carrera, Chris Colabello or a minor leaguer would be the candidates for additional playing time. Analysis: Brett Talley

Broncos announce DL Antonio Smith will be at camp despite charges and still under a investigation.

Smith recorded 18 tackles and three sacks with the Raiders last year. His production fell off a bit in Oakland after he recorded at least five season in the three previous seasons with Houston. Analysis: Brett Talley

Cowboys DE Jeremy Mincey is not reporting to training camp after trying to work on an extension with the Cowboys since February.

Mincey was a nice surprise for Dallas last year on a cheap, two-year contract. But apparently Mincey doesn't want to own up to the second cheap year given that he played above his salary last season. Presumably something gets worked out here, although Mincey is a 31-year-old former journeyman, so Dallas may not feel much pressure to work something out. Analysis: Brett Talley

Miami Dolphins have re-sign QB Josh Freeman.

Freeman last appeared in an NFL game back in 2013 and will be vying for a backup spot behind Ryan Tannehill during training camp. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

The Miami Dolphins signed Chris Martin.

Martin was an undrafted rookie last season out of UCF and spent time with a few different organizations. He will provide some depth during camp for the Dolphins. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba
