Free-agent DT Kevin Williams said he wants to continue playing but has not received any offers.
Williams appeared in 15 games for the Vikings last season and recorded 3.5 sacks and 29 tackles. He's still strong enough to help stop the run, but at 32-years-old, he's slowed down enough to make his pass rush less effective. It wouldn't surprise us to see him land elsewhere, but he might only find work in a supporting role.ANALYST: Howard Bender
The Red Sox are looking for an opportunity to give Brian Johnson his major league debut.
Johnson has a 2.92 ERA and 8.76 K/9 over 49 1/3 innings here in his first go-around with Triple-A Pawtucket. While the Red Sox would like to give him a taste of the majors, they'd obviously prefer to have a stronger rotation and not need to dip into their farm system as much as they have already. Steven Wright and Eduardo Rodriguez are getting a look right now. Should they fail and the struggles at the back end of the rotation continue, then perhaps we'll see Johnson at some point.
