Aroldis Champan could be out for at least a month, if not more, after sustaining a fracture above his left eye Wednesday.
Chapman took a direct hit to the head on a liner by Salvador Perez on Wednesday night. He is in the hospital currently and will have numerous scans to make sure his brain swelling is under control. As Brandon McCarthy who wend through a very similar injury tweeted this evening: all reporting at this point means zilch, until he gets a scan. Chapman won't be out of the woods for at least 48 hours and won't be back on the mound for a very long time after this incident.ANALYST: Jeff Mans
Chris Carter went 2-for-4 with two RBI in the Astros 6-3 loss to the White Sox on Friday.
Carter has a six game hitting streak going which has helped raise his batting average from .157 to .185. Carter owners have to understand the type of player he is and know that while he has outstanding power there will be plenty of strikeouts and a low batting average. Those hoping for a repeat performance of 2014 should be reminded that he had 13 home runs and a .184 batting average heading into July before mashing 24 home runs over the final three months of the season.
