Fantasy Player Updates & News

Update: Raiders signed former Buccaneers LT Donald Penn.

One mans trash is another mans treasure. The Raiders offensive line is in such bad shape that Penn legitimately could be their best offensive lineman at three different positions. ANALYST: Jeff Mans

Tigers recalled INF Dixon Machado from Triple A Toledo.

Machado will take the roster spot of inured pitcher Kyle Lobstein. In AAA this season, Machado hit .274 with a home run and 16 RBI in 157 at-bats.  Analysis: Kevin Luchansky

Tigers placed Kyle Lobstein (shoulder) on the 15-day disabled list.

Lobstein is dealing with a sore left shoulder. Through eight starts this season he's posted a 4.34 ERA and a 1.45 WHIP with three wins. Buck Farmer will take his next scheduled start for the Tigers.  Analysis: Kevin Luchansky

Juan Lagares has been scratched from Sunday's starting lineup due to lingering injuries to his right side and elbow.

Lagares has said the armpit region and elbow have been nagging him for the past week, and he should be considered day-to-day. He's hitting just .235 with one extra-base hit in the month of May.  Analysis: Kevin Luchansky

Update: Jose Bautista is not in the lineup Sunday after receiving a cortisone shot in his right shoulder.

Bautista has been restricted to DH duties since April 22nd. He began light throwing May 18th, but as of now, there is no timetable for his return to the outfield.  Analysis: Kevin Luchansky

Angels officially placed Mike Morin (strained left oblique) on the 15-day disabled list.

Morin has been mediocre (putting it nicely) working in middle-relief for the Angels this season, posting a 6.00 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and a 13/5 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 20 appearances. Relief Pitcher Cam Bedrosian has been recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake, where he has posted a 3.15 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 27/5 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 20 innings pitched, to take Morin's spot in the bullpen. Analysis: Brad Costilo

Angels recalled RHP Cam Bedrosian from Triple-A Salt Lake.

Anthony Rendon (oblique) is working out at second base again on Sunday.

Rendon is expected to head out to the Nationals' spring training complex next week to play in some simulated games, and how quickly/slowly he progresses in these games will determine when his minor-league rehab assignment will start. At this point, the best that Rendon owners can hope for is an early-to-mid-June return to the Nationals. Analysis: Brad Costilo

Jonathan Lucroy (toe) expects to be playing again by the Brewers next road trip at the latest.

Lucroy has been out of action since injuring his toe on April 20th, but has been taking part in bullpen sessions for the last week-and-a-half. According to an interview with Brewers Beat Writer Tom Haudricourt, Lucroy says he expects to return to MLB-action by the Brewers' next road trip (at the latest).  Analysis: Brad Costilo

Wilson Ramos is not in the Nationals starting lineup on Sunday.

This appears to be a routine day off for the Nationals starting Catcher (nothing out of the ordinary in a Sunday afternoon game), but the timing may provide Ramos an opportunity to break out of the mini-slump that he's in. After stringing together a 19-game hit-streak, Ramos has gone 0-for-11 in his last three games. Jose Lobaton, who is 1-for-8 in his career against opposing starting pitcher Aaron Harang, will get the start in Ramos' absence. Analysis: Brad Costilo

Lucas Duda (hamstring) is not in the Mets starting lineup on Sunday.

There's no word on the severity of Duda's hamstring issue at this point, but he was able to complete last night's game (going 1-for-4) which would lead you to believe that it's not a major issue. Keep an eye on how this story develops, because you don't want to get stuck with an injured player in your lineup next week if you're in a weekly league. Analysis: Brad Costilo
