Fantasy Player Updates & News  Better Than a Freeroll, Every Position Pays!

The two teams interested in Matt Schaub are the Cleveland Browns and Oakland Raiders. Both organizations have the salary-cap space to absorb Schaub's $14.5 million cap figure.

Bills claimed C Dalton Freeman off waivers.

Freeman will provide some depth for the Bills, but he'll only be playing in the case of an emergency. He's irrelevant for now.  Analysis: Brian Rothstein

Ryan Broyles was not claimed on waivers. He’s now a free agent.

Broyles' promising career was derailed by two ACL surgeries and a torn Achilles. It's a sad story for the former second-round pick. His career is likely over.  Analysis: Brian Rothstein

Saints have waived OL Cole Manhart.

Manhart was a camp body and now his time has come to an end. He'll hope to latch onto a practice squad somewhere and continue his NFL dreams. Analysis: Brian Rothstein

Padres recalled Nick Vincent from Triple-A El Paso.

Vincent has thrown the ball well at El Paso, posting a 3.04 ERA and 1.25 WHIP over 50 1/3 innings. He'll slot into middle relief in the Padres bullpen. Analysis: Brian Rothstein

Padres activated RHP Marcos Mateo from the 15-day disabled list.

Mateo had been sidelined with a strained neck, bit is ready for action again. He owns a 5.19 ERA and 1.21 WHIP over 17 1/3 innings. He'll work in middle relief.  Analysis: Brian Rothstein

Bears waived QB Shane Carden and G Lucas Nix.

Carden was a star at ECU, but this is the NFL. He has no career as a starter in the league and can only hope to find a backup job somewhere.  Analysis: Brian Rothstein

Adrian Salcedo has been suspended 100 games for second violation of drug policy.

Apparently the first time didn't teach him his lesson. One more strike and Salcedo will be banned from baseball forever. Hopefully he'll get the message this time. Analysis: Brian Rothstein

Packers officially placed Jordy Nelson on injured reserve.

Nelson's season is officially over. Jeff Janis and Ty Montgomery will battle for his targets, with early indications pointing to Montgomery having the advantage. Analysis: Brian Rothstein

Hanley Ramirez (shoulder) will not play the outfield again this season.

Ramirez is transitioning to first base for next year so he'll try and get acclimated with the position. The move to first base actually hurts his fantasy value, as he's not the traditional slugger you can nab at the position. Analysis: Brian Rothstein

Bears placed RB Senorise Perry (foot) on injured reserve.

Perry was competing for a roster spot, but he's buried on the depth chart. He'll miss the entire season. Analysis: Brian Rothstein

Julius Thomas will have surgery on his injured finger and could be out up to a month.

Thomas' fantasy value has already taken a massive hit moving to Jacksonville. Now it will drop even further due to his injuries. There's no timetable for his return, but assume he will indeed miss a month. Analysis: Brian Rothstein

Raiders release WR/KR Trindon Holliday.

Holliday was once an electric kick returner, but he's now been cut from the Raiders. That doesn't bode well for his future. His chances are running out.  Analysis: Brian Rothstein

Billy Burns is not in the Athletics lineup on Tuesday.

Just a day off for Burns. Jason Pridie is batting eight and plaing center field in his place.  Analysis: Brian Rothstein
