Rockies right-hander Jhoulys Chacin felt good Saturday, a day after throwing 75 pitches from 120 feet. He appears to be past his shoulder strain and inflammation.

Hisashi Iwakuma (shoulder) played catch again on Thursday.

Iwakuma has already had a setback during his rehab assignment so the Mariners will likely take some extra caution this time around. He is still early in his rehab given that he is just playing catch and the Mariners will need to see him successfully pitch in a few rehab games for even considering his activation. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Wil Myers (wrist) could hit in a cage over the weekend.

Myers saw a hand specialist on Tuesday and the Padres released a statement saying that while he was improving there was still no timetable for his return. The fact that he could begin hitting as soon as this weekend is a good sign however as depending on how the wrist responds a clearer timetable could be developed.  Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Brandon Morrow (shoulder) threw a three inning simulated game on Thursday.

Morrow is inching closer to a return to the Padres rotation after being shut down earlier this month with a shoulder injury. Morrow was enjoying a successful start to his Padres career, going 2-0 with a 2.73 ERA over his first five starts. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Coco Crisp saw a specialist who recommends an epidural injection for his neck. He will have no baseball activity for a month.

Crisp's injury history is well known amongst fantasy players but at 35 years old his body is just not holding together. Crisp has played just 13 games this season due to various ailments and this latest injury will render him inactive for a month which means a potential return to the A's lineup is even further away. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Scott Kazmir's MRI showed no structural damage. He'll see the team doctor but manager Bob Melvin says he'll probably be skipped for a start.

This is the best case scenario for Kazmir owners as they had to be concerned after he was removed from his most recent start after three innings and was immediately scheduled for an MRI. With it looking like he will avoid a DL stint owners should just continue to monitor this situation. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Alex Gonzalez has been scratched from Thursday's start with Triple-A Round Rock.

Gonzalez is expected to make his major league debut on Saturday for the Rangers against the Red Sox. Gonzalez has going 3-5 with a 4.15 ERA over eight starts at Triple-A Round Rock this season but was ranked by Baseball America as the 89th best prospect in baseball coming into the season. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Justin Masterson will throw a three inning rehab start Sunday with Triple-A Pawtucket.

Masterson was placed on the DL after a string of poor performances. It's not yet known if when he returns to the Red Sox if it will be as a member of the rotation or if he will be moved to the bullpen but either way he has no fantasy value. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Masahiro Tanaka (wrist) is flying to meet the Yankees in Oakland and could start Tuesday against the Mariners.

Tanaka struggled in his rehab start on Wednesday but his trip out to the west coast should signal that his return to the Yankees rotation is near. For now Tanaka owners will have to just wait and see what the Yankees decide to do with him once he joins them. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Heat and Dwyane Wade are far apart in contract negotiations.

Given that the NBA season is not yet over the Heat will have plenty of time try and sign Wade who opted out of his contract last year and restructured so the Heat could afford to bring back a player like Chris Bosh following LeBron James's departure. Wade has stated he is willing to pursue other offers in free-agency but would like to stay with Miami for the right price. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

A.J. Griffin (elbow) threw a pair of 15-pitch simulated innings in Thursday.

Griffin is working his way back from Tommy John surgery which the A's feel he is about a month away from returning to their rotation. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba
