The Browns will sign RB Ben Tate today if he passes his physical.
After playing second fiddle to Arian Foster since entering the league, it appears Tate has found a new home as the top running back. The Browns expressed interest in Tate late in the 2013 season and they are likely going to have to pay him top dollar for his services. Now that he is going to be a No. 1 running back, he should move up draft boards significantly in this year's drafts. ANALYST: Matthew Beck
Cecil Shorts might be ready to play against Jacksonville in Week 6.
Both Shorts and Nate Washington missed Thursday's game, making way for Jaelen Strong and Keith Mumphery. While strong caught two TDs, Mumphery was a non-factor. Strong earned himself more playing time in the coming weeks, possibly coming at Shorts' expense, though it could come at Washington's as coach Bill O'Brien said that Shorts had a better chance of playing against Jacksonville than Washington does.
