LaMarcus Aldridge will not play on Friday against the Pelicans.

Upgrade Robin Lopez, Dorell Wright and Thomas Robinson in the absence of Aldridge.ANALYST: Michael Pichan

Corey Joseph and the Toronto Raptors reached an agreement on a four-year, $30 million deal Sunday.

Joseph heads back on home on a multi-year deal after the Spurs decided to not bring him back. While he didn't have huge numbers, Joseph had limited playing time and hit 50.4% FGA while shooting 36.4% from long distance. Analysis: Rob Trayah

Tony Cingrani is scheduled to make the next appearance of his rehab assignment on Tuesday for Triple-A Louisville.

The official role for Cingrani is unknown at this point, but starting is a possibility. He has zero starts in his 24 appearances this season with 3.47 ERA and a 1.457 WHIP. Analysis: Rob Trayah

Brewers manager Craig Counsell confirmed that Carlos Gomez is not expected to miss much time with a left wrist contusion.

Gomez sat out Sunday's contest with the wrist problem, but Counsell believe his center fielder won't miss much time. The Brewers have won eight straight with Gomez hitting fifth in their lineup, behind Adam Lind. He is hitting .269 on the season with a .737 OPS. Analysis: Rob Trayah

Ben Revere (hamstring) could return to the Phillies starting lineup on Monday.

Revere had missed three straight days with the hamstring concern, but it is possible that he returns on Monday. For a speed guy with no power, hamstring issues are no good so the Phillies should take it easy with a possible trade asset in Revere. Analysis: Rob Trayah

Manny Banuelos (dehydration) is expected to take his next turn Tuesday at Milwaukee.

Banuelos left his start Wednesday with dehydration, but looks set to start on Tuesday against a hot Milwaukee team. He had successful start before leaving going 5 2/3 scoreless innings with seven strikeouts. Analysis: Rob Trayah

Collin Cowgill (wrist) will be shut down for at least another week, but manager Mike Scioscia said there wasn't any change in the nature of the injury.

Cowgill has been out since late May, but it looks like he will be eased back into the squad slowly. At the time of his injury, he was hitting .180 with one homer and two RBI. Analysis: Rob Trayah

Nets signed rookie forward Rondae Hollis-Jefferson.

The rookie out of Arizona was a defensive stalwart and regarded by most as the best defensive prospect in the draft. He signs a multi-year deal after being taken 23rd overall in this year's draft. Analysis: Rob Trayah

Jordan Walden (bicep) is scheduled to throw bullpen sessions Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday and if things go well he's hoping to be back in action a week or two after the All-Star break.

Walden has been on the disabled list since April 29th, but looks certain to return in the next week. At the time of his injury, Walden was leading the Cardinals in appearances with 12 in just the first month of action. Analysis: Rob Trayah

RHP Jerome Williams will begin a rehab assignment Tuesday at Reading (AA).

Williams hasn't been any good this season with a 6.43 ERA and 3-7 record. He starts a rehab to hopefully help the tragedy known as the Phillies and their staff. He is going to be worth the add now or in the next ten years so feel free to pass on him. Analysis: Rob Trayah

The Cubs have signed RHP Ben Rowen to a Minor League Contract.

Rowen had opted out of his contract with the Orioles organization on July 1, and now will report to the Cubs' affiliate in Iowa. He has yet to see time in the majors, but if he continues with strong performances in Triple-A, Rowen could see time in Chicago's bullpen soon. Analysis: Rob Trayah

Jason Pierre-Paul suffered significant burns on his palm and several fingers, and one finger may have sustained nerve damage.

Lesson learned everyone, sign your franchise tender before you light a bunch of fireworks on the Fourth of July. JPP was set to earn over $14 million on a one year, franchise tag, but might have put himself in jeopardy with this stunt. After holding out for a longer and more lucrative contract, Pierre-Paul will be lucky to get any sort of extension if his hand can even heal well enough for him to play a majority of this season. Analysis: Rob Trayah

Brandon Crawford went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday’s 3-1 loss to the Nationals.

Crawford has gone just 3-for-17 to kick off the month of July, but two of those hits have left the yard. The slick-fielding shortstop has already set a new career high with his 12 home runs and has turned himself into a true threat in the middle of the Giants batting order. Analysis: Nate Miller
