FANTASY PLAYER UPDATES & NEWS

Kobe Bryant will not play for head coach Mike D’Antoni next season and wants a new coach in place for the 2014-2015 season.

The Lakers have already said that D'Antoni will finish out the season as the Lakers head coach, but as for next year it just became a lot less likely that he will return.ANALYST: Michael Pichan

An MRI shows an oblique strain for Anthony Rendon. He will be shut down til it heals.

Owners who drafted Rendon have to be distraught with this news. He was finally nearing a return, but now that return date can be pushed back at least another week or two. Fantasy owners will have to continue to have a stopgap in Rendon's position until he is healthy. He shouldn't be dropped by any means, but he could be trade bait if you are in need of production now. Analysis: Colby Conway

Derrick Rose said he had his first stinger and it went away in 5 minutes. He is not worried about it and could have gone back in.

The Bulls went on to win this game, and Rose got some extra rest. Therefore, Bulls fans should happy with this news. The injury is minor and it would be a major surprise if he wasn't on the court for Wednesday's game. Analysis: Colby Conway

J.J. Hardy and Ryan Flaherty both report no issues after rehab game.

Both players seem to be nearing a return, which is something the Orioles will gladly welcome. Upon returning, Hardy will return to regular at-bats, while Flaherty's situation is a little less fuzzy. We won't know anything until they do return, but Hardy seems to be the better add if they both are available in your league. Analysis: Colby Conway

Colts T Matt Hall was waived on Monday.

Hall latched on with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent last year. After being by the Vikings in July, the Colts signed him and the injured reserve became his home. He will be looking to latch on with another team this season, but he is nothing more than depth on the offensive line. Analysis: Colby Conway

LeBron James struggled from the field going 9-of-22 from the field, but had 19 points to go with 15 rebounds, nine assists and three steals in Cleveland's 99-92 loss to the Bulls.

James didn't have his usual production from the field, but was able to make up for it with a good night in other categories. He fell an assist shy of a triple-double and pulled down 15 rebounds with Kevin Love not available for the rest of the season. He might need to come up with a Herculean effort if Cleveland is to get past Chicago and into the Eastern Conference Finals. Analysis: Rob Trayah

Kyrie Irving lead all scorers with 30 points (10-23 FGA, 9-9 FTA) while dishing out six assists and grabbing two rebounds as the Cavs dropped Game One, 99-92 to the Bulls.

Irving continues to be a great performer in his first playoff appearance and has taken control of the scoring while LeBron is able to control the floor. His effort was not enough for the Cavs to win Game One, however, and will need to find a way to shut down the pair of guards in Derrick Rose and Jimmy Butler in Game Two. Analysis: Rob Trayah

Derrick Rose scored a team-high 25 points (11-26 FGA) while hitting three three-pointers to go with five assists and five rebounds as the Bulls won 99-92 over the Cavaliers in Game One.

Rose was electric at times, but also struggled from the field at stretches. He is going to have to be at top form if Chicago is able to advance to the Eastern Conference finals. Rose received a stinger late in the game when trying to fight through a screen, but will be ready to go for Game Two after confirming in an interview after the game that he felt fine. Analysis: Rob Trayah

Pau Gasol scored 21 poitns (10-16 FGA, 1-1 FTA) while adding ten rebounds, four assists and four blocks in the Bulls' Game One 99-92 win over the Cavaliers.

Gasol was a monster from the floor, no different from the rest of the season as he had statistically one of his best seasons in his career. The Bulls were able to walk into Cleveland and pull out Game One, holding off a late Cleveland charge and taking home-court advantage away from the Cavs. He will be a key factor of the series with Cleveland not having Kevin Love to hold off the Spaniard.  Analysis: Rob Trayah

Update: Cubs confirm Chris Denorfia aggravated his left hamstring.

Denorfia was in obvious pain when he rounded second base and the Cubs wasted no time pulling him from the game. Junior Lake was his replacement and he seems poised to fill Denorfia's role if he were to miss any time. Analysis: Colby Conway

Leonys Martin left the game with a left wrist sprain.

After leaving with the injury, Delino Deshields entered the game and promptly doubled to deep right field. Wrist injuries can be tricky and detrimental to a hitter, so expect him to sit out a couple games. A DL stint may be necessary, but we likely won't know that until at least tomorrow at the earliest. Analysis: Colby Conway

Update: Derrick Rose had a stinger in his right shoulder.

Stingers can be very painful, but they typically don't hang around for too long. The team doesn't play again until Wednesday, and its likely that he will be on the court for that matchup. So far this postseason, Rose is averaging 19 points, 4.3 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game. Analysis: Colby Conway

As expected, Austin Rivers starting at point guard for the Clippers with Chris Paul out.

Rivers makes for a nice value play in DFS, seeing as he will log a lot of minutes with CP3 unavailable to play. This first game is important to the Clippers, as they will attempt to grab the early lead in this series against the Rockets. Analysis: Colby Conway

Derrick Rose is holding his right arm/shoulder. He's in serious pain on the side of the floor and is leaving the game.

The Bulls went on to win this game, but losing D-rose for any amount of time would be a major loss to this team. In 39 minutes of tonight's game, he scored 25 points, grabbed five boards and dished out five assists. Keep an eye out on Rose as he makes for a solid play in DFS when healthy. Analysis: Colby Conway

Chris Denorfia has to come out of the game. It looks like he aggravated his hamstring injury.

Denorfia was laboring after rounding second base and he was in noticeable pain. Junior Lake replaced Denorfia and owners of Denrofia should wait for an update on his injury before making any decisions. Analysis: Colby Conway

Jake Lamb (foot) will have his walking boot removed Tuesday.

It is reported that Lamb could return anywhere between the 7th-13th of this month. Yasmany Tomas has been holding down the hot corner since Lamb's injury, but he should return to regular at-bats in some capacity. He was hitting .414 with nine RBI before the foot injury. Analysis: Colby Conway
