Update: Paul Pierce is out for the remainder of Sunday's game.

Hopefully you didn't have Pauly in your lineup tonight. This could be a serious injury and Andrei Kirilenko would be a nice pickup if Pierce misses multiple games.ANALYST: Mark Kaplan

Yasiel Puig (hamstring) ran at close to 100 percent Monday.

The hamstring injury has kept Puig out longer than expected, but today's sprints signify that he is getting close to returning. He will embark on a rehab assignment before returning, but fantasy owners have to be excited that their early round investment will finally be back on the field. Puig will return to his usual spot in right field upon his return. Analysis: Colby Conway

Rob Brantly (thumb) was activated form the disabled list and optioned to Double-A Birmingham.

Although he didn't well during his rehab assignment, the team is happy that he managed to get through it with no setbacks. The White Sox will continue to go with Tyler Flowers and Geovany Soto behind the plate for the time being. It will take an injury to one of those two to get up on the big league squad. Analysis: Colby Conway

Rangers have placed Adrian Beltre on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained left thumb.

Beltre won't do anything with his sprained thumb for two weeks, prompting the team to put him on the disabled list. He will not return when first eligible and the team elected to call up top prospect Joey Gallo to fill the void in the lineup. Beltre will be missed in the lineup, but the raw power of Gallo could be in full effect as soon as tomorrow night. Gallo is worth a speculative add due to his immense potential. Analysis: Colby Conway

Joe Wieland is expected to be called up Tuesday to serve as the 26th man.

Wieland could potentially start the second game of the twin bill, or he could just as easily serve as the long man out of the bullpen. It's unsure yet, but we should have a better idea with how the Dodgers use their pitchers tonight. If Clayton Kershaw is able to get deep into the game, David Huff will likely throw Game 2 tomorrow. Regardless, pitching in Colorado is tough enough, so players should stay away from either starter. Analysis: Colby Conway

Kelly Johnson (back) has started playing catch and taking dry swings.

Johnson began activities at some point last week, but his progression has yet to make substantial progress. Even though he's eligible to return from the DL, it will likely be another couple weeks before he returns. Analysis: Colby Conway

Erik Cordier opted out of his Giants contract, declared for free agency and then re-signed a new minor league deal to stay with the organization. He will report to Triple-A Sacramento.

The 29-year old right-hander refused his Triple-A assignment, therefore opting to test the waters. In nine minor league innings this season, Cordier struck out 13 batters, but he also walked seven in that span. Analysis: Colby Conway

Chargers have signed cornerback Lowell Rose.

Rose spent last season with the 49ers after being signed as undrafted free agent. He is a bigger corner who can transition to safety if the team has a more immediate need there. He will be irrelevant in IDP leagues this year. Analysis: Colby Conway

Kendall Marshall, who is recovering from knee surgery, did some on-court work in Milwaukee on Friday.

Marshall averaged just 14.9 minutes per game this season and was fantasy irrelevant this season. He started just three of the 28 games he appeared in, averaging just 4.2 points and 3.1 assists per game. He will be ready for the start of next season and continue his role as a backup guard. Analysis: Colby Conway

Mike Pelfrey will pitch Tuesday for the Twins, but they are still mulling pitching plans beyond that.

Pelfrey was supposed to pitch in tonight's game, but rain will push his start to tomorrow. He will face the same opponent, but the rest of the schedule for the staff is in shambles. Pelfrey Is 4-1 with a 2.77 ERA and he makes for a quality start in DFS, seeing as he pitched very well against the Red Sox in his last start. Analysis: Colby Conway

Will Smith hopes to have a resolution regarding the appeal of his eight-game suspension by Friday.

Smith appealed his suspension on Monday and expects to have a resolution by Friday. He will likely be unavailable for most of next week, causing the Brewers to be slightly shorthanded in their bullpen. He was 1-0 with a 1.93 ERA before the suspension. Analysis: Colby Conway

Bulls will name Fred Hoiberg coach at 2 PM Tuesday.

Hoiberg has reportedly notified Iowa State players and staff that he will accept the Bulls' offer to coach the team. Hoiberg was considered the front-runner to take on the head coaching duties due to his ties to the Chicago front office, notably Bulls General Manager Gar Forman. Analysis: Ivar G. Anderson
