The Cardinals have now locked up their starting third basemen/utility infielder through the prime years of his career, which has to make prospective fantasy owners happy. Although this news will not change his fantasy value in standard leagues, this increases his value in dynasty leagues now that we know where he will be playing in the upcoming years. Lions will not use the franchise tag on DT Ndamukong Suh.
There has been a lot of back-and-forth internally as to whether the Lions want to bring Suh back and obviously cost is a major issue as he will command quite the hefty salary on the open market. But they won't use the franchise tag here as they know the bitterness it will cause between player and team. Look for the Lions to make the defensive lineman a competitive offer but they won't break the bank to keep him. Analysis: Howard Bender
