Saints shopping RB Pierre Thomas and WR Lance Moore to other teams, per sources, and even could be open to trading RB Darren Sproles also.
Wow. The Saints can't be thinking of blowing up their offense, can they? Moore is a Drew Brees favorite, but he's simply not a consistent threat. Sproles is a nice player to have, but the fact is that Thomas can catch the ball very well out of the bakcfield and he's about five times the all-around back that Sproles is. It will be interested to see what happens, especially in the backfield, since Mark Ingram finally showed some nice work late in the year. ANALYST: Ray Flowers
Bobby Parnell's velocity was up to 94-95 MPH in his rehab appearance on Thursday.
Parnell conceded eight runs in his first 6 1/3 rehab innings. He's been lights out lately, with his velocity trending in the right direction. He's on the road to recovery from Tommy John, and it often takes pitchers time before their velocity, control and feel return. Parnell's velocity had dropped substantially before the UCL tear was announced last season, so it's a nice sign that he's throwing hard once again. Analysis: Spencer Silva
