Update: The Bulls are off today but early indications are that Joakim Noah's right thumb injury isn't serious.

JaKarr Sampson will come off the bench on Sunday.

Sampson has started 28 games this season, but he will give way to Furkan Aldemir. Neither is worth playing for fantasy, though both rookies could have some upside in the future. Analysis: Steve Pimental

Rockets coach Kevin McHale said Patrick Beverley (wrist) is unlikely to play agains this season.

If you haven't dropped Beverley yet, now is obviously the time. Jason Terry is starting at point guard for the Rockets, but the only backcourt player who has a chance to produce consistently besides James Harden is Corey Brewer. If you owned Beverley you probably need to look elsewhere to replace him. Analysis: Steve Pimental

Furkan Aldemir is in the 76ers starting lineup on Sunday.

The 76ers have a lot of guys you have probably never heard of, but Furkan Aldemir has to take the cake. The 23-year-old from Turkey bears watching, but there is no reason to play him Sunday. Analysis: Steve Pimental

Athletics optioned OF Alex Hassan to Triple-A Nashville.

Hassan turns 27 on April Fool's Day and has played all of three career MLB games. He will probably get a shot with the Athletics at some point, but there is no reason to believe he will do anything with it. Analysis: Steve Pimental

Knicks signed guard Ricky Ledo to a second consecutive 10-day contract.

Few phrases in sports are as depressing as "second 10-day contract with the Knicks." All you can do is feel sorry for the kid. Ledo is averaging 7.2 points in 18.6 minutes for the Knicks, and fantasy players shouldn't expect much more in his second 10-day contract. Analysis: Steve Pimental

Brandon Morrow and Odrisamer Despaigne will both start on Tuesday.

The battle for the fifth spot in San Diego's rotation is coming right down to the wire. Morrow probably has more upside due to his strikeout potential, but Despaigne is probably the better pitcher at this point. Whoever wins the job will have nice NL-only value, but both players will likely wind up in the rotation at some point. Analysis: Steve Pimental

Mariners optioned Carson Smith to Triple-A Tacoma.

Smith had a 2.93 ERA in 43 innings at Triple-A last season, and it does not appear he has anything to prove there. He should be back with the big club before long. Analysis: Steve Pimental

Robbie Hummel (hand) is expected to play Sunday against the Pelicans.

Hummel has missed two months, and he wasn't playing particularly well before the hand injury. Feel free to ignore him for fantasy. Analysis: Steve Pimental

Anthony Bennett (ankle) is expected to play Sunday against the Pelicans.

Bennet hasn't played in over a month, though it is doubtful anyone noticed. He is averaging just 15.8 minutes per game this season and has not done anything with those minutes. He may not be in the NBA in a year or two. Analysis: Steve Pimental

Mason Plumlee is in the Nets starting lineup on Sunday.

Plumlee has been much better as a starter this season than off the bench, and he is worth starting in deeper leagues so long as he starts. Analysis: Steve Pimental

Timberwolves did not renew Sean Kilpatrick's 10-day contract.

Kilpatrick averaged 5.5 points in 18.0 minutes over five games with the Timberwolves, but apparently that was not enough to warrant another 10-day contract for the 25 year-old. He was never going to have much fantasy value this season anyway. Analysis: Steve Pimental

Bobby Parnell hit a batter and walked a batter in a scoreless minor league inning on Sunday.

Parnell is still on track to miss a week or two of the season, at which point he will likely be behind Jenrry Mejia and possibly even Jeurys Familia in the Mets pecking order. Parnell has a chance to be useful right away in holds leagues, and he has a decent chance to earn some saves sooner than later. Analysis: Steve Pimental

Juan Uribe was scratched from Sunday's lineup due to an illness.

Uribe is notable only because he is blocking three young players--Erisbel Arruebarrena, Alex Guerrero and Hector Olivera--who would all be much better for fantasy. Unfortunately, this illness is unlikely to affect his availability for Opening Day. Analysis: Steve Pimental

Brewers optioned Brandon Kintzler to Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Kintzler has a 3.36 career ERA over five big league seasons, but apparently that was not good enough to warrant a spot in the bullpen. Kintzler had 26 holds in 2013 and could easily wind up in a late-inning role this summer, but that is his only hope at fantasy value in 2015. Analysis: Steve Pimental
