The Ravens are expected to pick up the 2015 option for CB Jimmy Smith.

With 59 total tackles and 2 interceptions, he is a decent defensive back. Remember he was assigned to cover Calvin Johnson when the Ravens took on the Lions, and he performed as well as any corner all season against Megatron.ANALYST: Ivar G. Anderson

Jason Castro is not in Saturday's starting lineup.

Castro is getting a day off from behind the plate, giving way to Hank Conger. Castro has hit home runs in back-to-back games, so this is unfortunate for his owners, as it appears that he is still in a time-share with Conger, who is hitting ninth against Arizona. Analysis: Ivar G. Anderson

Franciso Cervelli is not in Saturday's starting lineup.

Cervelli gets a routine day off Saturday. Chris Stewart will fill in behind the plate, and bat eighth against the Reds in Cincinnati. Stewart is a value on FanDuel at $2200. Analysis: Ivar G. Anderson

Robinson Cano (abdomen) will serve as the designated hitter in Saturday's game.

Cano becomes usable for daily fantasy purpose, swinging his bat in the DH position. He is going for $3400 on FanDuel and will bat fourth in the lineup Saturday. Expect him to return to the field in the next couple of days. For Saturday, Ketel Marte will handle the duties at second and hit leadoff. Analysis: Ivar G. Anderson

Padres recall RHP Leonel Campos from Triple-A El Paso.

Campos will fill in for Ian Kennedy, who went on paternity leave Saturday. Campos will add some bullpen depth until Kennedy returns to the team, as Kennedy was able to pitch his scheduled start Friday night when he could not get a flight out of Miami before Saturday. Analysis: Ivar G. Anderson

Padres place RHP Ian Kennedy on Paternity Leave list.

Kennedy was supposed to miss his Friday start but could not get a flight out of Miami, and ended up tossing seven innings of no-decision baseball. He should be back in time for his next scheduled start. He has not had a stellar season for the Padres, but has racked up 94 Ks in 103 1/3 innings this year.  Analysis: Ivar G. Anderson

Derrick Coleman is day-to-day with a hamstring injury.

Coleman missed time last season with a foot injury. He is the top option in Seattle at fullback, and will likely regain that role once his hamstring lets him get back to practice. As a fullback, he has extremely limited fantasy value. Analysis: Ivar G. Anderson

White Sox recall RHP Scott Carroll From Triple-A Charlotte.

Carroll will fill the open spot on the roster with J.B. Shuck headed to the 15-day DL with a hamstring strain. Carroll has little to no fantasy value as a middle reliever likely to be use in low-leverage situations. Analysis: Ivar G. Anderson

White Sox place OF J.B. Shuck (strained left hamstring) on the 15-day disabled list.

Shuck had to leave Friday night's game against the Yankees with a hamstring strain. He came up limping after scoring from third on a wild pitch. His spot on the roster is being filled by reliever Scott Carroll who was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte on Saturday.  Analysis: Ivar G. Anderson

Kyle Williams ruled out for season with torn Achilles.

He was not projected as much more than a special teams player, sitting low on the receiver depth chart in Denver. He could have had some value in leagues that give points for return yards, but aside from that minimal use, he was fantasy irrelevant, even before his season was ended by injury. Analysis: Ivar G. Anderson

Dee Milliner is practicing Saturday.

Milliner needs to get on the field and show his stuff. He is competing against the trio of Darrelle Revis, Antonio Cromartie, and Buster Skrine for playing time. He will serve as depth in the defensive backfield assuming he makes the final roster. Analysis: Ivar G. Anderson

Elvis Dumervil (tendonitis), WR Breshad Perriman (knee) both missed practice Saturday.

The veteran Dumervil is likely to serve as a back up linebacker behind Courtney Upshaw again this season, so his missing time early in camp is not a big issue. The rookie Perriman, learning the system, is another matter, although the injury does not sound serious at this point. Analysis: Ivar G. Anderson
