Panthers have notified DE Greg Hardy that the franchise tag will be applied to him, per league source.

Jose Abreu went 1-for-2 with a home run, two RBI and one run scored in the White Sox 13-6 loss to the Yankees on Friday.

The power is really coming around for Abreu as he has now homered in three of the last four games to bring his season total to 18 to go with 59 runs, 61 RBI and a .296 batting average. This recent power surge has to please owners after Abreu had fallen off pace to repeat his spectacular rookie campaign and while he likely will not match his 36 home runs from last year he has the ability to go on power runs which does not make 30 home runs this season unachievable.  Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Carlos Rodon allowed eight earned runs on eight hits while walking four and striking out four over three innings in the White Sox 13-6 loss to the Yankees on Friday.

While there is no question this kid has some talent he is still just 22 years old and prone to the occasional blowup start like this which follows his most recent start against Cleveland where he struck out nine over 6.2 shutout innings. Overall this year Rodon has gone 4-3 with a 4.84 ERA while striking out 87 over 80 innings. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Mark Teixeira went 3-for-4 with two home runs, six RBI and two runs scored in the Yankees 13-6 win over the White Sox on Friday.

Teixeira is turning in one of his best seasons as a Yankee to this point in the season, hitting .269 with 52 runs, 28 home runs and 73 RBI. The home run total is his highest output since hitting 39 back in 2011 as he finds himself on pace for his second career 40 homer campaign. IF drafted this season Teixeira was likely taken in the later rounds which would make him easily one of the biggest fantasy surprises players of the year. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Alex Rodriguez went 2-for-2 with a double, three walks, four runs and one RBI in the Yankees 13-6 win over the White Sox on Friday.

There has likely never been a player facing more scrutiny as a season began that ARod as the majority of baseball fans were likely cheering for his demise than his resurgence but to this point in the season ARod looks like the ARod of old as he's hitting .282 with 62 runs, 24 home runs and 61 RBI for the year. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Nathan Eovaldi allowed three earned runs on seven hits while walking three and striking out five over 5.2 innings in the Yankees 13-6 win over the White Sox on Friday.

Thanks to some fantastic run support by the Yankees offense this season Eovaldi earned his 11th win of the year to go with a 4.30 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 85 strikeouts over 117.1 innings. His overall numbers outside of the wins are not very impressive and fantasy owners should realize that while the potential for a good start is there he rarely makes it out of the fifth inning due to high pitch counts which caps his overall production. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Brandon Crawford went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in the Giants 6-3 loss to the Rangers on Friday.

Crawford continues to rank among the most productive shortstops in baseball this season as he launched his 16th home run of the season to go with 50 runs, 64 RBI and a .268 batting average following Friday’s performance. Known more for his glove over the past couple seasons Crawford has exploded offensively this season and has shown no real signs of slowing down as he finds himself on pace for his first career 100 RBI season. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Madison Bumgarner allowed six earned runs on nine hits while striking out eight over seven innings in the Giants 6-3 loss to the Rangers on Friday.

This was certainly not the start many fantasy owners and especially daily league owners were looking for from Madison as the Giants tagged him for six earned runs over seven innings. Despite the nine hits allowed and six runs Bumgarner still struck out eight over seven innings and threw just 98 pitches. Overall this season Madison is 11-6 with a 3.39 ERA while striking out 139 over 138 innings. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Adrian Beltre went 3-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and one run scored in the Rangers’ 6-3 win over the Giants on Friday.

Beltre launched his eighth home run of the season on Friday to go with 44 runs, 27 RBI and a .259 batting average. The power and batting average are very un-Beltre like at this point in the season as it looks like the 36 year old third baseman is finally on the decline after so many productive seasons. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Elvis Andrus went 2-for-4 with a home run, double, two RBI and two runs scored in the Rangers’ 6-3 win over the Giants on Friday.

Andrus hit his fourth home run of the season on Friday to go with 40 runs, 38 RBI, 11 stolen bases and a .255 batting average. Andrus has really picked it up of late, hitting .349 with nine runs, one home run, eight RBI and one stolen base over his last 10 games. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Nick Martinez allowed two earned runs on seven hits while walking two and striking out four over 6.1 innings in the Rangers’ 6-3 win over the Giants on Friday.

Martinez picked up his sixth win of the season on Friday to go with a 4.01 ERA and 1.42 WHIP on the year through 19 starts. Martinez had gotten off to an incredibly hot start to the season but has cooled significantly, owning an ERA of 6.97 since the beginning of June.  Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Derek Dietrich went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in the Marlins 8-3 loss to the Padres on Friday.

Dietrich launched his sixth home run of the season on Friday to go with 15 runs, eight RBI and a .273 average of 38 games this season. Dietrich is really enjoying a solid month of July where he is hitting .302 with eight runs, three home runs and three RBI. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Christian Yelich went 2-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and one run scored in the Marlins 8-3 loss to the Padres on Friday.

Yelich is enjoying another solid month of production after a slow start to the season as he’s hitting, .319 with 11 runs, two home runs, 10 RBI and four stolen bases during July. Overall on the year Yelich is hitting .269 with 35 runs, six home runs, 25 RBI and 10 stolen bases as he continues to give glimpses of the fantasy darling he has the potential to turn into. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

David Phelps allowed three earned runs on seven hits while walking one and striking out two over five innings in the Marlins 8-3 loss to the Padres on Friday.

Phelps continues to pitch fairly well for the Marlins despite never totally dazzling on the mound. He took a no decision on Friday and for the season owns a 4-7 record with a 3.93 ERA and 1.29 WHIP. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Jedd Gyorko went 3-for-4 with three RBI in the Padres 8-3 win over the Marlins on Friday.

Gyorko has now notched multi-hit efforts in three straight games for the Padres following his three hit effort on Friday night. Gyorko was demoted in to Triple-A in early June due to poor play but since his call up one June 30th he is hitting .264 with three runs, three home runs and 10 RBI. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba
