Caron Butler has agreed to sign with the Oklahoma City Thunder, a league source tells Yahoo Sports.
The Butler signing adds much needed quality experience to a second unit that includes youngsters Jeremy Lamb, Reggie Jackson, Steven Adams and Perry Jones. This is a great move for OKC but one that eliminates any and all of Butler's fantasy value. ANALYST:
Marcus Stroman allowed four runs (three earned) on five hits with five strikeouts and two walks over seven innings against the Rangers on Friday in Game 2 of the ALDS.
Stroman is a huge reason the Blue Jays have been dubbed as favorites out of the AL to get to the World Series. Obviously, Toronto has the best offense in baseball, but Stroman provides an electric arm as their No. 2 starter who can back up his hitters. He didn’t show it early today, getting tagged for three runs through two frames, but he settled in to shut the Rangers down. Coming into today, Stroman had been magnificent since coming back from a torn ACL, posting a 1.67 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 18 strikeouts in 27 innings since Sept. 12. Expect him to shake off the poor beginning to today’s outing which was undoubtedly due to postseason jitters for the 24-year-old pitching in his first playoff action. He should be able to continue the momentum of the last five innings he tossed today and make a huge impact in his next start, whether it be Game 5 of the ALDS or Game 1 of the ALCS.
