Jeff Samardzija said he'd be very surprised if he's dealt in the next four weeks, said he likes manager Rick Renteria's 'all-in to win' mentality.

Jeff can say whatever he wants, but the fact is that if he can and the team cannot come to a conclusion on a contract that both sides are comfortable with, the odds grow exponentially that he will be dealt by the Cubs. Jeff should stop worrying about his contract and just go out an pitch. If he does that, to the full extent of his talent, he's going to become a very rich man.ANALYST: Ray Flowers

Jaguars FB Bradie Ewing was placed on waivers Tuesday.

Toby Gerhart will see reps at fullback for the team, prompting the release of Ewing. Gerhart was a major fantasy bust last season and a move to fullback won't help him this year either. Analysis: Colby Conway

C.J. Miles heads back to the locker room with assistant trainer Carl Eaton. It looked like a foot/ankle injury.

The Pacers have been plagued by the injury bug this season and they are hoping that Miles avoids a major injury here. The Pacers still have a chance to make the playoffs and an injury to Miles would be detrimental to their playoff hopes. Analysis: Colby Conway

LeSean McCoy and Fred Jackson could split third-down snaps.

Due to his tenure in Buffalo, Jackson is going to get some work, but this won't be a 50/50 split by any means. McCoy is an uber-talented back who will be the bell cow out in Buffalo. Fantasy owners who draft McCoy in drafts this upcoming season should also draft Jackson, solely as a handcuff option. The reported split should be taken with a grain of salt until we get clarification closer to season time. Analysis: Colby Conway

Melvin Upton (foot) expects to receive clearance Friday to shed his protective boot.

It's about time that people finally stray from the hype that Upton could return to his Tampa Bay form. In 2012, Upton his 28 home runs and stole 31 bases. The past two seasons with Atlanta, he has hit a combined 21 home runs and swiped 32 bases. He isn't the player he once was and batting averages the last two seasons of .184 and .208 should be enough reason to stay from B.J. Upton. Excuse me, Melvin Upton. Analysis: Colby Conway

Marlins released SS Yosmany Guerra.

Guerra is 32 years old and has yet to play at a level higher than Double-A. He wasn't really a fantasy asset to begin with, but this news just confirms that notion. If for some unforsaken reason you rostered Guerra, it is time to release him, just like the Marlins did today. Analysis: Colby Conway

Tyler Matzek was named the Rockies' home-opening starter for Coors Field.

While Matzek's 7:4 K/BB ratio wasn't all that impressive this spring, a weak rotation will allow him to be an important starter this season. He was impressive at the end of the last season, leaving a good taste in the mouth of the organization. Matzek should be nothing more than a plug-and-play option, at least in the beginning of the season. Analysis: Colby Conway

Wil Myers was sent home Tuesday with an illness.

The illness isn't considered anything serious, so fantasy owners shouldn't be too concerned with his status for Opening Day. If you have to put a label on him, consider him day-to-day with a very strong chance of suiting up on Opening Day. Analysis: Colby Conway

Giants announce Justin Maxwell has been added to the major league roster.

The team designated Gary Brown for assignment in order to make room for Maxwell on the 40-man roster. Maxwell was efficient this spring, registering a .316 average with two homers and 11 RBIs over 57 spring at-bats. Owners shouldn't pick up Maxwell until his role with the team is clearly defined. Analysis: Colby Conway

Gary Brown was designated for assignment to clear a 40-man spot for Justin Maxwell.

Brown was the odd man out here in San Francisco. Owners should stay away from Brown, but it's not as if owners should have been chomping at the bit for him before. Analysis: Colby Conway

Suns sign Jerel McNeal to a 10-day contract.

The Suns are going to give McNeal a brief contract to see if he can help their team down the stretch, but he won't be helping fantasy owners anytime soon. Analysis: Colby Conway

Hassan Whiteside (right hand laceration) is expected to play Tuesday night, but will not start.

Whiteside is going to be very limited in this game, possibly as low as under 10 minutes. The laceration will force him to be left hand dominant in this one, so owners will want to look elsewhere for production tonight. Analysis: Colby Conway

Dennis Schroder tweets that his toe is not broken and not considered serious.

The Hawks have already locked up the top spot in the East so don't be surprised if the team brings him back slowly. The positive news is that the toe isn't broken and he shouldn't miss too much time. Down the stretch, regular starter Jeff Teague could see extra rest, prompting extra minutes for Schroder, given that his toe is healthy. Analysis: Colby Conway
