The Philadelphia 76ers and forward Danny Granger reached agreement on a buyout Wednesday that will allow Granger to sign with another team and be eligible for the postseason.
According to league sources, the Clippers are the frontrunners to sign Granger with an outside shot that he ends up with the Spurs instead. The Bulls, Rockets, Mavs, and Heat are also expected to talk to Granger, but it is the Clippers who have a leg up on these other teams because they can offer him significant playing time that other teams may not be able or willing to.ANALYST: Michael Pichan
Jed Lowrie left Monday's game with a thumb injury. He's going back to Houston Tuesday for an MRI.
In all likelihood Jonathan Villar or Marwin Gonzalez will fill in for Lowrie if he misses extended time, but there's an outside chance the first-place Astros call up uber-prospect Carlos Correa for his first major league taste. Correa is murdering the Texas League (Double-A) to the tune of .375/.429/.719 with four home runs and two stolen bases. He's worth a speculative add in competitive leagues until the situation becomes more clear. Astros GM Jeff Luhnow has hinted that he wouldn't be scared to "lift" Correa straight from Double-A at some point. Analysis: Spencer Silva
