There is a strong likelihood the Chicago Cubs trade SP Jeff Samardzija before Opening Day, according to two sources.

Although the Cubs are listening to offers for their ace, the price would have to be right in order to move him before Opening Day. The club would have more leverage if they waited until the trade deadline in July, so that is more likely to happen than a trade before Opening Day. No matter where he pitches in 2014, Samardzija has the high-strikeout ability to make him an above average fantasy pitcher this season. ANALYST: Matthew Beck

J.D. Martinez is in the Tigers lineup on Sunday.

Martinez tweaked his knee on Saturday but said after the game he does not expect to miss any time. He in fact will not and is expected to be in the lineup today.  Analysis: Dillon Conklin

Aramis Ramirez is not in the Pirates lineup on Sunday.

Ramirez will likely just be getting a rest day on Sunday. The Pirates will send out Kang or Sean Rodriguez at third base in Ramirez's place on Sunday. Analysis: Dillon Conklin

Charlie Furbush (biceps) will throw bullpen sessions on Sunday and Tuesday and could start a rehab stint with Triple-A Tacoma on Thursday.

Furbush has been out since early July with a biceps injury but is looking primed to make a comeback soon. He will throw a bullpen session on Sunday and if all goes well he will start his rehab stint. Barring any setbacks, Furbush will rejoin the club in a few weeks.  Analysis: Dillon Conklin
