DeMarcus Cousins (hip) is participating in Thursday's practice.

The Kings do not play again until Saturday at home against the Celtics making it highly likely that Cousins returns to action then, so long as he does not suffer any setbacks between now and then.ANALYST: Michael Pichan

Jeff Baker left Tuesday's game with left oblique soreness.

It wasn't a great showing for Baker as he committed an error and struck out before exiting the game with this injury. To replace Baker the Marlins moved Michael Morse to first base and entered Ichiro into the outfield. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Manager Bruce Bochy said Norichika Aoki should be ready within first two weeks after All-Star break.

Aoki landed on the DL with a fractured fibula which has sidelined him since the end of June. In his first season with the Giants Aoki is excelling in the leadoff spot, hitting .317 with 33 runs, two home runs, 19 RBI and 12 stolen bases. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Jazz have now officially signed Trey Lyles.

Lyles was the 12th overall pick in this past draft out of Kentucky following his freshmen season and will try and make an impact alongside Derrick Favors in the Jazz front court. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Denard Span (back spasms) underwent an MRI exam on Tuesday and the team is awaiting the results.

Span has had back issues for a few months now and while it has not forced him to miss significant time it has caused him to miss the occasional game as well as force him to come out of some games early. Fantasy owners will be eagerly awaiting the results of his MRI and should look to add Michael Taylor should he hit the DL. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Update: Francisco Cervelli was scratched Tuesday due to "manager's decision."

Seems like just a normal rest day for Cervelli despite getting Sunday off as well. The Pirates catcher is enjoying a fine season, hitting .297 with 26 runs, four home runs and 28 RBI. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Knicks are among several teams to recently express interest in free agent shooting guard John Jenkins.

Jenkins has spent the last three seasons coming off the bench for the Hawks, averaging 13.8 minutes per game over his career. Which ever team signs him will likely look for him to fulfill a similar role off the bench. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Manager Don Mattingly said Brandon Beachy is a candidate to start on Saturday.

The often injured but very talented Beachy is once again working his way back from Tommy John surgery. He has made five rehab starts this season, going 1-1 with a 2.41 ERA. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Dodgers optioned P Eric Surkamp to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Surkamp entered the game in relief on Monday and was hit hard by the Phillies. The Dodgers optioned him to Triple-A to make room for Ian Thomas who will provide an extra arm in the Dodgers bullpen on Tuesday. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Dodgers recalled P Ian Thomas from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Thomas was called up to replace Eric Surkamp who appeared in Monday's game against the Phillies. There is little fantasy impact here as Thomas will provide some depth in the bullpen. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Travis d'Arnaud is still wearing a brace for his sprained elbow.

d'Arnaud was eligible to come off the DL over the weekend but the fact that he is still in a brace should certainly be a concern to fantasy owners. The Mets will likely re-evaluate him after the All-Star break but he will likely need a couple rehab games before activation to make sure the elbow is up to the rigors of a game.. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Mets transfered RHP Buddy Carlyle to the 60-day disabled list.

Carlyle hasn't pitched since May 11th due to back spasms and a hip ailment. The 37-year-old still hasn't resumed throwing so there's no timetable for his return.  Analysis: Brian Rothstein

Michael Cuddyer is not in the Mets starting lineup on Tuesday.

Just a day of rest for the 36-year-old. Cuddyer recently missed some times with a left knee issue, so the Mets are playing it cautious. Analysis: Brian Rothstein

Hunter Pence has returned to the Giants starting lineup on Tuesday.

Wow. Pence's wrist has drastically improved in the last few days as reports had him being out until after the All-Star break. A positive BP session on Sunday was obviously good enough to activate him from the DL. The Giants can certainly use his bat in the middle of their lineup.  Analysis: Brian Rothstein
