Fred Davis of the Redskins suspended indefinitely without pay for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse. Davis released a statement saying he unknowingly took a banned substance and will apply for reinstatement in the fall.
Just one day after we were touting Davis as a potential fantasy option in 2014, he goes and gets popped yet again. Given that he's already been busted he will likely be suspended for six games or more - potentially up to a year - that will destroy any hope he had of getting paid.ANALYST: Ray Flowers
Redskins Coach Jay Gruden said this week that he intends to get Pierre Garçon’s numbers “back up” in 2015.
The Redskins are a mess, so this is clearly lip service. Garçon is a fine wide receiver, but to think that his numbers will rise with questions surrounding Washington's quarterback situation are a bit far fetched. The veteran wideout saw 45 less receptions and 594 fewer yards last year than he did in 2013, so to think that his numbers will increase next year is a bit preposterous. View him as a WR3 for now, but Garçon has the ability to be much more if the Redskins can develop some chemistry on offense. Analysis: David Kerr
