Cubs sign Emilio Bonifacio to minor league deal, per source.

Bonifacio should provide the Cubs with decent infield depth. With Darwin Barney at second and a competition between Donnie Murphy and Luis Valbuena at third, it seems like an opportune situation for Bonifacio to potentially make an impact. His career slash line of .262/.322/.340 isn't all that impressive, but his performance last season as a second-half pick-up by the Royals in which he slashed .285/.352/.348 with 16 stolen bases and an 88.9-percent success rate stands out strongly. Should he maintain that form, the Cubs just might have to find him a home on the 25-man roster.
