Fantasy Player Updates & News

Rajon Rondo recorded a double-double that included 15 points and 12 assists in Sunday's loss to Dallas.

Rondo was able to return to the court on Sunday after missing Friday's game, recording his second double-double in five games. He has looked good since making his season debut, but he doesn't appear to be at the level we have grown accustomed to seeing from him. Now that his minutes restriction appears to be over, more fantasy production should be on the way. ANALYST: Matthew Beck

Ed Reed has officially announced his retirement.

Reed last played in the NFL back in 2013, appearing in seven games each for the Jets and Texans. He will end his career totaling 64 interceptions, 11 forced fumbles, six sacks and 644 tackles over his 12 year NFL career. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Hisashi Iwakuma (shoulder) has began playing catch from 75 feet.

A report last week stated that the Mariners believe Iwakuma is still about 3-to-4 weeks away from returning and while its great news he has begun playing long toss until he goes on a rehab assignment his timetable will be a mystery. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Update: Corey Dickerson aggravated the plantar fasciitis in his foot.

After playing in Game 1 of Wednesday's double header, Dickerson, who apparently aggravated his plantar faciitis, will take a seat against left-hander Robbie Ray. Rafael Ynoa will man left field and bat eighth for the Rockies. Analysis: Nate Miller

Mark Trumbo is not in the Diamondbacks starting lineup for Game 2.

After starting Game 1 of Wednesday's double header against the Rockies, Trumbo will take a seat against righty Jordan Lyles in Game 2. Ender Inciarte will slide over to right field while David Peralta mans left field. Analysis: Nate Miller

Carlos Gonzalez is not in the Rockies starting lineup for Game 2.

Gonzalez played in Game 1 of Wednesday's double header with the Diamondbacks, but will take a seat against lefty Robbie Ray in Game 2. Charlie Blackmon will slide over to right field while Drew Stubbs starts in center. Analysis: Nate Miller

Corey Dickerson is not in the Rockies starting lineup for Game 2.

After playing in Game 1 of Wednesday's double header, Dickerson will take a seat against left-hander Robbie Ray. Rafael Ynoa will man left field and bat eighth for the Rockies. Analysis: Nate Miller

Mitch Moreland (elbow) felt great after hitting in the cage on Wednesday.

Moreland is hoping to follow up Wednesday's session by taking batting practice either Thursday or Friday. After that, he could begin a rehab assignment and be back in the Rangers' lineup within a week. Analysis: Nate Miller

Josh Hamilton played five innings in left field Wednesday in extended spring training.

Though he went 0-for-4 at the plate, the important news regarding Hamilton is that the former MVP seems to be 100 percent healthy. The veteran outfielder could be in the Rangers' lineup by the beginning of June. Analysis: Nate Miller

Yasiel Puig (hamstring) will DH on Thursday at High-A Rancho Cucamonga.

Puig is eyeing a return to the Dodgers' lineup when first eligible on Sunday, May 10th. However, he will definitely need to play the field before that happens. Analysis: Nate Miller

Mark Canha is expected to start seeing more time at first base.

With Coco Crisp now back in action, the Athletics' outfield situation is incredibly cramped. However, Canha has been swinging the bat too well to be relegated to the bench or even the minor leagues. The 26-year-old rookie has put together a .271/.333/.447 slash line with four homers through 22 games. Analysis: Nate Miller

Stephen Strasburg played catch after Wednesday's game but offered no update on his shoulder afterward.

Strasburg has certainly been a major disappointment so far this season, and this shoulder issue could definitely have something to do with his struggles. Fantasy owners should stay in tune with the situation. Analysis: Nate Miller

Jake McGee (elbow) is scheduled to pitch Friday for Triple-A Durham.

McGee has already pitched in three minor-league games during his rehab assignment and is expected to work in three more before making a return to the Rays' bullpen. The 28-year-old lefty will likely be eased back into the closer's role in Tampa Bay. Analysis: Nate Miller

Sean Doolittle (shoulder) will throw to live hitters for the first time on Friday.

This is obviouslya big step in the recovery process, as Doolittle continues to be on track for a late-May return to the Athletics' bullpen.  Analysis: Nate Miller
