Ravens outside linebacker Terrell Suggs, 31, counts $12.4 million against the salary cap in 2014, and NFL.com estimates there's a 40 percent chance he'll be released. Suggs had nine sacks and 60 tackles in the first half of last season before fading badly down the stretch.
After Jamal Lewis retired Suggs became the face of the Ravens' defense. The 2011 Defensive Player of the year is 31 years old and coming off a season of 80 tackles and 10 sacks. He did limp to the finish line in '13 raising some doubts about his future.ANALYST: Ray Flowers
Cecil Shorts might be ready to play against Jacksonville in Week 6.
Both Shorts and Nate Washington missed Thursday's game, making way for Jaelen Strong and Keith Mumphery. While strong caught two TDs, Mumphery was a non-factor. Strong earned himself more playing time in the coming weeks, possibly coming at Shorts' expense, though it could come at Washington's as coach Bill O'Brien said that Shorts had a better chance of playing against Jacksonville than Washington does.
