Lakers guard Nick Young is out at least 2 weeks after MRI shows he has a non-displaced fracture and bone bruise in left knee.
The Lakers have resigned Shawne Williams to a 10-day contract who will back up Wes Johnson at the small forward position in place of the injured Nick Young. Williams contributions will likely be inconsistent with Johnson getting the biggest bump in value, enough that he should now be owned in 12 team or deeper leagues. Young will be re-evaluated in two weeks, so this does not mean he will necessarily be back at the two week mark, but if you can at least stash Young until then.ANALYST: Michael Pichan
Alex Avila feels he's ready to return as the Tigers everyday catcher.
While Avila feels he's ready again for full-time duty, manager Brad Ausmus and the Tigers have been down this road with him all too often. He id as injury-prone as a guy can be and while this most-recent issue involved the knee, you can't help but remember the concussion issues that have plagued him over the last few seasons. One wrong foul tip and he could be done. He might see the lion's share of a platoon, but it seems doubtful that he would just be handed over the reins after such a lengthy absence and injury history. Yankees announce Nathan Eovaldi will start on Wednesday.
Eovaldi gets the ball on normal rest while Adam Warren will slide to the bullpen. After being acquired from the Marlins, Eovaldi has had a rough time in New York with a 1.543 WHIP and 4.81 ERA, both the highest in his career. His xFIP is almost a full run lower at 3.84 meaning he could see some good fortune in the near future. Analysis: Rob Trayah
