The Broncos signed practice squad WR Gerell Robinson to a futures contract today.
The former Arizona State wide receiver took part in the 2012 combine but hasn't been able to crack the team's 53-man roster just yet. He'll look to make more of a name for himself during camp this year, but his outlook for the season doesn't exactly scream fantasy stud in the making. ANALYST: Howard Bender
Lions cut defensive end Phillip Hunt.
Hunt has served as a back-up linebacker and defensive lineman and appeared in two games, recording seven tackles (one solo) and one sack. The Lions apparently have other roster needs and Hunt is the casualty here. He'll seek employment elsewhere now or could end up on the Lions practice squad. Analysis: Howard Bender
Orioles pitching prospect Branden Kline had Tommy John surgery on his elbow.
The 24-year old, undrafted right-hander first began to feel discomfort in his elbow back in May while pitching for Double-A Bowie. The team wanted to try and avoid surgery so he received a platelet-rich plasma injection to help with the inflammation and, hopefully, the soreness and from there, just rest and rehab. Those efforts have finally been deemed a failure and Kline will finally have the surgery. He is expected to now miss the entire 2016 season. Analysis: Howard Bender
Marqise Lee (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 5.
Lee failed to practice all week again, so the Jags will at least try to work him back in next week. Until he can start putting in the practice time necessary, you can avoid him. Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns remain the top two options for Blake Bortles so even when Lee does finally return, it's difficult to see him poaching too many targets. Analysis: Howard Bender
