As it turns out, D-backs general manager Kevin Towers and manager Kirk Gibson will not be entering the final year of the contracts in 2014.
The team on Monday said that it had extended the contracts of both men. The length of the extensions as well as the financial terms were not disclosed. Source3 Feb, 04:04 PM
Contract length for managers and front office personal are meaningless. If a team needs to make a change than they will, no matter when that date is. It's nice that both men have some level of comfort, but if this team goes 5-20 in April then it would likely be adios Mr. Gibson. It's just the nature of the beast. Analyst: Ray Flowers View Profile
